NPR’s Marketplace Tech segment on “Digital Archiving and the Global Memory Shortage,” featuring an interview with Digital Bedrock’s CEO, Linda Tadic.

Marketplace’s Stephanie Hughes speaks with Linda about how the rapid construction of data centers, driven by tech companies rushing to power their AI models, is contributing to a global data storage media and memory shortage. You can listen to Part 1 here: https://tinyurl.com/2me87uzr

Part 2 is scheduled to air later in March and will focus on digital preservation and the work we do to protect client data.

AI data centers are buying up a lot of the world’s supply of computing memory, causing a global shortage. That’s having an effect on digital archiving efforts.
