Shopify tells you a customer exists, but not whether they're loyal or about to leave. Pull the numbers on a store with 11,790 customers and the split usually looks like this:
Champions: 1,240
Loyal: 3,860
At-Risk: 2,510
Lapsed: 4,180
One in three haven't ordered in over a year. That group carries ~$214K in lifetime value that you already paid to acquire, and nobody's working it.
Not because it's hard. Because the data needed to find it sits in 30-odd different tools, and RFM scoring only works once all of it is joined at the row level. So the segment never gets built, and the spend goes to prospecting instead.
The cheapest revenue in your business could be the customer who already bought once. One caveat: under about 500 customers, or under a year of history, RFM scores are noise. Wait until there's enough behavior to read.
Full breakdown on how to run this in the comments.
