Skid Row could also be a place of new life: of recovery and renewal, of surrender to whatever higher power we might believe watches over us. Bach's "Ich Habe Genug" runs the gamut of human expression, from fulfillment to grief, and the ultimate surrender - a true lullaby for our times.

Street Symphony invites you to a live performances of Bach's poignant, sweet, and aching Cantata "Ich Habe Genug", featuring vocalist Scott Graff, oboist Aaron Hill and an ensemble of Street Symphony artists. Framed in between the movements of Bach's famous work will be a presentation of stories and reflections from Linda Leigh, a gifted artist and longtime resident of the Skid Row community.
When Street Symphony started playing music in Skid Row, I was told that the neighborhood, which is still the largest concentration of unhoused people living in America, was the end of the line for many. Skid Row could be a place to embrace death.
But Skid Row could also be a place of new life: of recovery and renewal, of surrender to whatever higher power we might believe watches over us. Bach's "Ich Habe Genug" runs the gamut of human expression, from fulfillment to grief, and the ultimate surrender - a true lullaby for our times.
