The rear rack on my ATV was bending every time I carried gear. The rack was bowing down in the middle and everything was sliding off. I cut the bent section out, welded in a new piece of 1-inch square tubing, and welded crossbars every 8 inches. I welded every joint with four passes. The rack is flat as a table now. I carried 300 pounds of gear last weekend and the rack didn't flex. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The drain fl**ge on my shower was rusted through and water was leaking into the subfloor. I could hear it dripping every night. I cut the old fl**ge off, welded a new one from 1/4 inch stainless steel, and welded it to the drain pipe with a full 360 fillet. I ground the welds smooth so the caulk seals perfect. The shower doesn't leak a drop now. The subfloor is dry for the first time in months. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The chassis on my guitar amp cracked right down the middle from years of being thrown around in vans. The whole amp was flexing when I played loud. I ground the crack out, welded it back with 7018, and added two 1/8 inch plate doublers on the inside that nobody will ever see. I peened every pass while it was red hot. The chassis is solid as a rock now. I play it at full volume and it doesn't flex at all. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

Found a 6-inch crack right behind the cab mount on my semi. Scary stuff. I cleaned it, stopped the ends, and welded a 12-inch patch plate over it. I used 7018 so it would flex a little. The shop wanted $2,000 to replace the rail. I did it for $15 in rod. It's held for 80,000 miles so far. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The dipper stick on the backhoe was tweaked and cracking near the bucket pins. I put a massive triangle of 1-inch plate to the side of the stick so it jams against the frame and can't spin. It's so solid now the whole backhoe shakes when you hit a rock, but the dipper stick stays straight. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The drawbar pin on my tractor kept sliding out when I pulled heavy loads. I'd find the pin in the field every other day. I welded a collar around the pin so it can't slide out. I tacked it first, then ran a full 360 bead around the collar. I ground the weld smooth so the pin slides free but can't come out. The pin stays in now. I pulled a 5-bottom plow last week and the pin didn't move an inch. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The winch mount on my boat trailer cracked right where the winch bolts to the frame. The winch was loose and the boat was sliding around every time I drove. I cut the cracked section out, welded in a new piece of 3/8 inch plate, and drilled new holes with a boring bar so they're perfectly aligned. I welded the mount with six passes on each side and peened every one while it was hot. The winch is solid now. The boat doesn't slide an inch. I hauled a 3,000 pound boat last weekend and the winch didn't move. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The handle on my portable generator snapped off. The generator weighed 60 pounds and I was carrying it by the cord. I welded a new handle from 3/8 inch flat bar, bent it into a U shape, and welded it to the frame with four passes on each side. I added a rubber grip so it's comfortable to hold. The handle is stronger than the frame now. I could hang the generator from a ceiling by this handle. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The hydraulic line on my tractor was rubbing against the frame and wearing through. I could see oil dripping every time I parked. I welded guards from 1/4 inch plate along the entire line route. I welded 12 guards in a row, spaced every 10 inches. The lines don't rub anymore. No more oil leaks. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The window on my logging arch was cracked from a falling branch. I didn't want to replace the glass because it's $250. I welded a grid of 1/2 inch round bar across the inside of the window. It looks like a jail cell but if another branch hits it the bar takes the hit instead of the glass. The glass hasn't cracked since. I welded 20 bars across the window in about an hour. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.
