For today’s , I’m honored to share a new website I designed for actor and writer Nadia Bowers’s debut memoir, DEAR DEALER, about losing her sister Sasha to a fentanyl overdose. It was excellent to work with Nadia and her team, and the book is getting fantastic early reviews. Check it out at nadiabowers.com and place a preorder before the September 15 pub date. Now booking website clients for September!

I’m thrilled to share the first collaboration coming out of Hang Your Shingle Studio. As her own writing profile expanded, director and playwright Emilie Pascale Beck wanted to extend her reach to work with writers of all genres. She took a chance on being the first client and we launched Found Art Creative Consulting after the three-stage HYS process: branding consultation, website design, and marketing strategy development. Follow Emilie at .art and visit her new website at emiliepascalebeck.com. I enjoyed working with Emilie so much and I’d love to help more clients hang their shingle this summer! chrisdaley.com

“Working with Chris and Hang Your Shingle, I now have a gorgeous, clear, coherent website. During the process, our conversations shifted the way I thought about myself and what I wanted to offer through my services. Chris is compassionate and encouraging, but also a truth-teller. She made it possible for me to see what my strengths were and how to frame them. I’m grateful for every session. She worked with me to create a “shingle” that represents my many facets, beautifully designed and thoughtfully constructed. I’m so happy to have found her. I recommend Hang Your Shingle to everyone ready to take a step forward.”

I’m happy to announce today that I’ll be offering the inaugural Submission Sunday Summer Support Group. If you’re into alliteration, you’re already a fan. :-) If you’re already an annual paid subscriber to Submission Sunday, all you need to do is sign up. If you’re not a paid subscriber, this support group might be a good reason to join us: submissionsunday.substack.com.

A few years ago, I ran several iterations of a submission support group in person and online and it was great! Writers came together to catch up on their latest submission efforts and then spent an hour researching new opportunities and sending out work. Much success was had!

Starting Sunday, June 21, we’ll meet from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Pacific time online through August 30 (with no meeting on July 5). We’ll have a quick check-in, a sneak preview of that day’s new post of eight opportunities if there is one or a reminder of some submission tips, and then spend the rest of the hour off-camera sending out work before a final wrap-up. I’ll be available for one-on-one breakouts to discuss any issues you’re running into, and we’ll keep a group Google sheet of our submissions and results.

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have. Let’s do this!
