1. FRS, the frequency is from 462.5625 to 467.7250 MHz.According to FCC, this product is for personal use only, no license required, and is the best choice for many families.
2. GMRS is similar to FRS, this radio service uses channels ranging from 462 to 467 MHz. GMRS requires a license from the FCC. You can easily get this license as long as you are over 18 years old and it should be valid for around 10 years.
3. VHF,They operate in the frequency range of about 136 to 174 MHz, and they are characterized by being able to span longer distances. It is suitable for running on waterways, in the air or on the ground.
4. UHF, ranging from 400 MHZ all the way to 512 MHz. This type has extremely penetrating, both indoors and outdoors, and can communicate farther in buildings.
