What is PPC?
Pay-per-click (or PPC for short) is an online digital marketing technique that allows advertisers to buy visits (or clicks) to their website. With pay-per-click methods, advertisers bid for ad placements in a search engine’s sponsored links section, and they then pay a small fee for every time one of their ads gets clicked on by a user. In other words, PPC is the opposite to organic traffic generation (through SEO for example). When somebody searches a keyword related to the advertiser’s business, their ad will appear as the search engine’s top result. But the advertiser pays for that privilege – and each time the ad is clicked by a potential customer – a small fee is exchanged with the search engine. With a successful PPC strategy, the fee is usually negated by the increased profits that advertisement space generates. After all, forking out $2 per click is certainly worth it if it leads to an advantageous sale. A successful PPC strategy is about much more than paying a search engine, however. It requires a well-thought-out strategy based on keyword organization, ad groups, and highly optimized PPC landing pages that draw in – and hold onto- potential customers. And that’s where eCommerce PPC management comes into the picture. A PPC management team will ensure that your store’s ads and landing pages are user friendly and built to generate profits for your business.
