TIPS ON HOW TO FILM YOUR COURSE WITHOUT FEELING EXHAUSTED OR GOING BROKE.

I know what the usual advice is. I've seen and heard it all, just like you. And typically, when you're working on filming your course you might feel overwhelmed with "production quality" We even see these cause clients to delay their course launch or quit all together because they can't afford a professional to come in and help them.

But my advice? It's different.

You don't need to spend a bunch of money or months in production like what I'm sure you're imagining inside your head. Here are a few tips you can use to shoot your own "production quality" course videos, without breaking the bank or exhausting yourself.

1. Get A Solid Camera - Not expensive...solid. I use the PowerShot G7 X Mark II. It has a flip-up screen that allows me to view myself when filming *If you do not have money for a camera then use your phone. You don't need a camera to shoot anything these days but you do need to keep creating that course...so get to it!

2. Tripod - Amazon sells sturdy tripods for under $20. Don't overthink it.

3. Filming Location - My house is a mess with all these adoring loving kids running around so I have to shoot offsite. Check out PeerSpace or AirBnB for amazing places to film for a day in a cost-effective way.

4. Lights - Not a ring light, although that is great to start. Invest in a few softbox lights from Amazon. You can find full kits with 2 lights included for under $100. Don't break the bank...until your courses are making money.

5. Laptop - I'm sure you already have a laptop you're using for work so just use that one. While you're on camera you can use your laptop to view your script and of course you can use it to edit videos after!

6. Loom - Are you doing any shared screen or "how-to" videos? If so Loom is a must.

7. Editing Software - I use IMovie but I also love Filmora. Pick a simple one and get to know it. Find videos on how to use it on YouTube and really give editing a shot. I always say if I can do it anyone can and it's 100% true when it comes to video editing.

I've been a Digital Course Systems Architect for almost 2 decades now and I'm going to give you the best advice I can...

🛑 DO NOT CHANGE SYSTEMS JUST BECAUSE A GURU HAS TOLD YOU THEY FOUND A BETTER SYSTEM!!! 🛑

Please stop wasting your money buying into their affiliate links or the next shiny system. Hire a professional to asses your systems and help you find what is best for YOU and YOUR COMPANY. Someone like or myself can save you tens of thousands of dollars in the long run.
