Today, the people of Cuba are at risk of losing theirs.

Food. Hospitals. Clean water. The most basic necessities of survival, slipping away from innocent people who never made the decisions that put them here. They are simply caught in the middle, paying the price for choices made by others.

This isn’t about sides. It’s about a truth older than any politics: no human being is disposable, and no people should be left to lose hope.

So we stand up for the people of Cuba, and for the humanity in all of us. Because their light dims in all of us.

🎨 Dellis E. Frank transforms materials bound for the landfill into powerful fiber works on equity, identity, and the environment. Come check out her latest collection, “Banned Books and Paper People” on display.

🎨 A. Laura Brody reimagines wheelchairs, walkers, and reclaimed materials as breathtaking works of art — through her Opulent Mobility project, she reveals disability as opulent, radiant, and powerful.

We’ll open with an intimate fireside chat with both artists, then move into a panel with two people who’ve proven creativity is power: Jay Levin, founder of LA Weekly, and Melissa Flores of Arts for LA.

Mother Nature is crying out for help.

Weakening the protections for our most endangered animals. Rolling back the rules that keep our air and water clean. Poisoning our food and our soil.

It is no coincidence that we are experiencing record tornadoes, record fires, record tsunamis, record drought, and record heat waves.

We are not separate from Mother Nature, we are part of her. And these are her cries for help.

It’s a choice. And we still have time to choose differently, to answer the call before it’s too late.

When someone is in danger, we don’t ask where they are from or what they believe in before we act. Helping others is the most human thing we can do. It is written into our DNA.

As we enter the official , we are reminded of heroes all over the world that are putting their lives at risk to help and save others.

Thank you to everyone who continue to inspire us by helping others, no matter how big or small.

They never stopped searching. Never stopped holding up the faces of the ones they lost.

This week, their pain was finally acknowledged and while nothing can undo what was taken, healing begins when a people’s suffering is seen at last.

To the people of Syria: we see you, and we’re with you on the long road toward peace and rebuilding. 🌍 💚

Rwanda is using autonomous drones deliver blood, vaccines, baby food, and life-saving medications to remote clinics within minutes, reaching villages that once took hours to access over rough, unforgiving roads, where those saved minutes are the difference between life and death.

Embedded with AI software, each drone is 100% autonomous once it is launched. “It knows where to go and can make its own decision on how to avoid the wind, how to reach the hospital faster depending on what it sees.” - Kayitana.

AI is neither savior nor destroyer, it’s a mirror. The technology flying blood to a mother in Rwanda is the same technology that, pointed the other way, can bomb schools. What decides which future we get isn’t the machine. It’s where we choose to put our attention. So let’s point it towards helping lives versus taking them.

Division is made up by imaginary lines and the people of Kumamoto have crossed them as they all have stepped in to help each other during a time of crisis.

Our hearts and prayers to all the families impacted by this earthquake.
