Vector Graphics Inc. Vector 3 Computer with Hard/Floppy Drive

This is a nice Vector Graphics Vector 3 computer system circa 1981. Has a (6) slot S-100 bus that contains a Vector Graphics ZCB (CPU), a 64K memory module, a floppy and hard disk controller, and a FlashWriter II video display board. The keyboard is nice and supple and works perfectly. The system boots into Monitor Version 4.2, and commands allow you to manage memory and also to boot into the floppy drive.

No software or documentation are available. Not sure how to get the system booted either from a software floppy or to boot the hard drive. Sold as is.

Altos ACS8000-12A Multi-User CP/M System

Based on the Zilog Z80 microprocessor, this Altos ACS8000-12A multi-user CP/M system features a Shugart 801 8" floppy drive and a Quantum Q2020 20MB Wi******er drive (a.k.a. hard disk). It also has an internal tape drive controller to connect an external tape drive.

The system appears to be configured for 4 users, with a total of 208K of RAM. 16K is dedicated to the operating system, and there are four banks of 48K for each of the four users.

The unit is in very good cosmetic condition, featuring the stylish faux wood grain finish. The front bezel is a bit yellowed as can be expected for a 40 year old computer. There are no scratches or dents of any note on the exterior. It is very clean inside and out, having been fully disassembled and all the dust bunnies blown out of it. I effected a repair of the cracked power switch with super glue and sodium bicarbonate. The red lens over the neon bulb power indicator has broken off. If I find a replacement I will swap it out.

The system powers up and both the floppy drive and Wi******er disk spin up. The Wi******er disk sounds healthy but no guarantees can be made as to its status. I was unable to get a prompt on the console terminal port after hooking up a dumb terminal, so it will require some tinkering to get fully operational.

Powered enclosure for (4) 5.25" full-height disk drives. Includes (2) MPI model B51 drives and (1) MPI model 52S drive.

Unit powers up and front panel LED illuminates. Power supply is putting out ~11.5VDC and ~5VDC to the drives. The MPI 52S drive has a (presumably) write protect override switch mounted to the front panel but it is not connected to anything internally. All drive belts are in good condition. Unable to test, sold as is.
