PSA - BACK-TO-SCHOOL REMINDER FOR PARENTS

As you post those adorable first-day-of-school pictures, take a moment to think about what information you’re sharing.

Child predators are watching social media too. A seemingly innocent photo can reveal more than you realize—your child’s full name, school, grade, teacher, classroom, sports team, bus information, daily schedule, or even where you live.

Before you hit “Post,” take a second look at the background and the details in the caption. Avoid sharing personally identifying information that could make it easier for someone to locate or track your child.

Wiflyer router alert - Router backdoor alert: Cybersecurity firm VulnCheck found that all 20 Zbtlink router models it examined ship with a hidden implant that phones home to servers in China — giving the company potential access to your entire network the moment you plug it in.

Zbtlink (also sold as Wiflyer) routers are mostly used by businesses, with an estimated 100,000+ deployed worldwide — and they're sometimes white-labeled under other regional brand names, so you may not even know you're running one.

The company's response? It claims the feature is just for "after-sales maintenance" and debugging, and says it can provide firmware to disable it.

This lands right in the middle of the broader US crackdown on Chinese-made routers — from Texas suing TP-Link to the FCC's new restrictions on foreign router sales.

If you're running Zbtlink/Wiflyer gear on your network, it's worth checking now. 🔗 Full report:

Twenty router models sold on Amazon, AliExpress, and Alibaba ship with a remote-control implant enabled by default. It runs as root, it uses no encryption, and it authenticates nobody. Whoever answers the phone owns the device.

Booking.com Data Breach Alert —
What You Need to Know
If you've used Booking.com recently, pay attention! In April 2026, the company confirmed a major data breach where hackers accessed customer reservation details including names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, and booking info.
The biggest danger right now? Scammers are using that stolen data to send hyper-realistic fake messages on WhatsApp and email — pretending to be your hotel and demanding urgent "payment verification." These are NOT real.

How to protect yourself:
Never click payment links sent via WhatsApp, text, or email — always go directly to the official Booking.com app or website.

Call the hotel directly using a number from their official website — NOT the number in any suspicious message.

Know the red flags — Booking.com will NEVER ask for card details or bank transfers via WhatsApp or external links. Threats of cancellation unless you pay immediately = SCAM.

Monitor your bank statements for any suspicious activity and consider running a password check-up if you think your account was affected.
Booking.com has already force-reset PINs for affected reservations and is notifying impacted customers by email.

Stay alert and share this with anyone who travels! 🙏

Windows just got safer from phishing attacks!
Microsoft is rolling out new protections in the latest Windows 10 & 11 updates to guard against a sneaky phishing trick — malicious Remote Desktop (.rdp) files.
Here's what's changing:

First time you open an RDP file? You'll see a warning explaining the risks.
Every future attempt will trigger a security dialog showing who created the file, where it's connecting, and what resources it can access — with all sharing options disabled by default.
Unsigned files get a clear "Unknown Publisher" flag.

Why does this matter? Hackers (including Russian state-sponsored group APT29) have been sending rogue RDP files via phishing emails. Once opened, they could silently steal your files, passwords, and credentials.
Make sure your Windows is up to date and keep these new protections turned ON!

WARNING: Hackers Are Stealing Microsoft Accounts — Even If You Use 2FA!

A major new scam is hitting hundreds of thousands of people across the US, Canada, Australia, and more. Hackers are sending fake emails that trick you into handing over your Microsoft 365 account — and the scariest part? Changing your password won't fix it.

Here's how it works in plain English

1. You get a suspicious email

It looks legit — maybe about a document, a voicemail, a DocuSign request, or a construction bid. It has a button or link to click.

2. You're shown a code and sent to Microsoft's real website

The page looks completely real because it IS Microsoft's real login page. You're asked to type in a short code to "verify" yourself.

3. You log in with your username, password, AND your 2FA code

This feels safe because you're on Microsoft's actual page. But the code you typed was secretly generated by the hacker.

4. The hacker now owns your account — permanently

They get a special "key" that lets them into your account forever. Even if you change your password, their key still works.

What NOT to do

✕ Don't click links in unexpected emails — even if they look like they're from Microsoft, DocuSign, or your boss.

✕ Don't type a code into microsoft.com/devicelogin unless YOU started the process (like setting up a new TV or device).

✕ Don't assume 2FA protects you here — this scam bypasses it completely.

✕ Don't trust an email just because the link looks real — hackers disguise dangerous links behind trusted names like Cisco and Mimecast.

✕ Don't think only big companies are targeted — nonprofits, healthcare workers, real estate agents, and government employees are all being hit.

What to do instead

✓ If you think you were tricked, contact your IT department immediately — they need to revoke your access tokens, not just reset your password.

✓ When in doubt about an email, call the sender directly using a number you already know — not one in the email.

✓ Share this post with coworkers, friends, and family — especially anyone who uses Microsoft 365 for work.

HUGE red flag is getting a request to sign into microsoft.com/devicelogin if you didn't request it
