It is with a heavy heart that Gigs of Knowledge will be closing its doors permanently on September 16th, 2016. I want to thank all of my customers over the past 7 years for their patronage and support. I think of many of you as not just customers, but as friends.
I will be leaving the Gigs of Knowledge website active so you will have a way to contact me regarding past work orders. I would gladly recommend LivCom http://www.livingston.net for your future computer repair needs. They have a fully staffed computer repair shop in the LivCom facility, and you don't have to be a Livingston Telephone customer to use them for computer repair. I will be selling furniture, office supplies, and other miscellaneous items this weekend (Sept 10-11) and next Saturday the 17th.

The deadline for the free Windows 10 upgrade is July 29th. After that date, the software will cost $119. If you are not comfortable upgrading your machine, or you have tried and it failed, you can bring it in to Gigs of Knowledge and I'll upgrade it for you. Remember it takes a couple of days, so don't rush in on the 28th. Bring your machine in soon.

The scammers are out in force today dialing 936-327-###x and 328-###x numbers. If you get a call from so called "Microsoft" or any other legitimate sounding company, telling you that you have been hacked, or you have viruses, just HANG UP THE PHONE. They are 100% a scam.
What ever you do, do NOT let them access your computer.

If you're still running a computer with Microsoft XP, it's beyond time to replace it. It is dangerous for you to be using an XP machine on the internet at all.
Microsoft is no longer supporting, or patching XP, so every day, you are more vulnerable to data breaches, stolen identity, and even having your computer turned into a zombie or "bot" that will do things behind the scenes... like sending out thousands of spam messages.
