WILLARD, Mo. (Sept. 2, 2026) โ€” Kaeden Cornell found victory lane once again at Lucas Oil Speedway, scoring his seventh win of the 2026 season during Rempfer Memorial - Pitts Homes & Realty Challenge Cup Championship Weekend.

The driver of the Hoover Motorsports / Rocket Chassis No. 50 Mullins Race Engines-powered Late Model charged from the third row Friday night to capture the $1,000 preliminary victory.

"It was really good," Cornell said. "I have to thank my dad and my mom and Zach and everybody who comes with me. Dad's been calling me a Podium Princess lately, because I couldn't win one."

Cornellโ€™s weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway, known as the โ€œDiamond of Dirt Tracks,โ€ kicked off Friday with the opening night of the Rempfer Memorial - Pitts Homes & Realty Challenge Cup Championship Weekend.

After finishing third in his heat, Cornell started from the third row in the feature and quickly worked his way toward the front. He tracked down polesitter Cole Henson and held off a late slider attempt to secure his seventh win of the season.

"I knew Cole was gonna slide me, I was just hoping that I could get back under it," said Cornell after Hensonโ€™s attempted slider. "I appreciate him running me clean."

Cornell returned Saturday looking to cap the weekend with another strong run. He won his heat race to advance into the finale but was forced to retire on lap 13 and was scored 16th.

Complete results are available at www.LucasOilSpeedway.com.

Cornell is currently working to finalize his next race. Once his schedule is set, fans can find upcoming dates at www.KaedenCornell.com.

N. AUGUSTA, S.C. (Aug. 31, 2026) โ€” Ethan Dotson saved his best for last during a three-race Iowa swing with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, pulling off a last-lap pass Saturday night at Shelby County Speedway to capture the $20,000 Harlan Late Model Showdown.

Driving the ASD Motorsports No. 74X Late Model, Dotson overtook Daulton Wilson on the final lap to secure his second victory of the 2026 season.

โ€œThe line I was running, nobody was really running down there [in Turns 1 and 2],โ€ Dotson said. โ€œSometimes itโ€™s better to be lucky than good there. Hate it for Bobby and Daulton, but the way itโ€™s been going for me lately, Iโ€™ll take a little luck. I figured if I could get around the top down there and get a run on him, I saw [Wilson]โ€™s guy telling him to run the bottom. Just all kind of fell together finally.โ€

The three-race stretch began Wednesday at Southern Iowa Speedway for the Corn Belt Showdown. Dotson won his heat race, pulled the โ€œfourโ€ pill in the draw and went on to finish second in the 40-lap feature.

Fridayโ€™s visit to Adams County Speedway for the $20,000-to-win OSR Southwest Iowa Shootout produced a more difficult night. Dotson advanced through his heat with a third-place finish but pitted on lap 12 of the feature and ultimately finished 15th.

Dotson closed the Iowa swing Saturday at Shelby County Speedway by again finishing third in his heat to earn a spot in the Harlan Late Model Showdown.

He steadily worked his way forward in the 50-lap feature, cracking the top five before the halfway mark. After a pair of frontrunners tangled in the closing laps to set up a green-white-checkered finish, Dotson used the top side to charge past Wilson and lead the final lap to claim the $20,000 victory.

Complete results from the busy stretch can be found at www.WorldofOutlaws.com.

While the World of Outlaws will be idle for the first three weeks of September, Dotson and ASD Motorsports are set to compete in the 56th annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway, September 10-12.

HOHENWALD, Tenn. (Aug. 24, 2026) โ€” Oakley Johns left little doubt Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park, leading all 35 laps to score a dominant $5,000 victory in the Marlin-Woods Memorial and his first career Ultimate Super Late Model Series triumph.

Johns put the Zippy Autos LLC / Franklin Enterprises No. c6 Longhorn Chassis Late Model on the pole with fast time before controlling the feature from start to finish. The victory was his first of the season and third of his career at the Tennessee oval.

โ€œHats off to my guys for a fast piece,โ€ Johns said. โ€œI first want to thank Jeff [Greer] for giving me the opportunity to drive this hot rod and all the sponsors on the car. This sport is very demanding and always changing, so itโ€™s awesome anytime we can get the win. I couldnโ€™t do it without everyone on the car and all my supporters. Canโ€™t say it enough.โ€

While Johnsโ€™ weekend ultimately ended in victory lane, it started on a much different note Friday during the $3,000-to-win opener. After qualifying for the feature through time trials, Johns ran as high as sixth before being forced to the tail on lap 15. He rallied from the back to salvage an 18th-place finish.

Johns responded Saturday by setting fast time in qualifying with a blistering 13.025-second lap to earn the pole for the Marlin-Woods Memorial.

From the front row, the Hohenwald, Tenn., native controlled the 35-lap affair from start to finish, crossing the checkered flag more than three seconds ahead of runner-up Matt Cooper. Todd Morrow completed the podium in third.

Complete results from the Marlin-Woods Memorial can be found at www.DuckRiverRacewayPark.com.

Johns will sit idle this weekend before invading Mississippi on September 6 for the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series event at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

SHINNISTON, W. Va. (Aug. 24, 2026) โ€” Consistency was the name of the game for Brandon Sheppard during last weekโ€™s Iowa swing, as the Rocket1 Racing driver recorded four consecutive finishes of sixth or better across two series.

Sheppardโ€™s best result came Tuesday at Marshalltown Speedway, where he finished second in the FloRacing Night in America event. He capped the week Saturday with a fifth-place finish at Maquoketa Speedway in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series's Hawkeye 100 finale.

โ€œMan, what a fun week,โ€ Sheppard said. โ€œWe gotta get a little better at the end of the night, but still thrilled with how the week went. We were consistent everywhere we went and we can build off of that. Looking forward to Lucas Oil picking back up this weekend in Pennsylvania.โ€

Sheppard kicked off the Iowa swing Tuesday at Marshalltown Speedway with a runner-up finish in the FloRacing Night in America event.

He followed that performance with a sixth-place finish in Wednesdayโ€™s $20,000-to-win FloRacing event before shifting his focus to Maquoketa Speedway for the World of Outlaws Hawkeye 100 weekend.

Sheppard finished fourth in Fridayโ€™s preliminary before capping the doubleheader with a fifth-place finish in Saturdayโ€™s $25,000-to-win finale, giving him finishes of second, sixth, fourth and fifth across the four-race stretch.

Complete results from the busy week can be found at www.FloSeries.com and www.WorldofOutlaws.com.

Sheppard will resume Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition this weekend as the tour heads to Port Royal Speedway for the annual Rumble by the River. Fridayโ€™s preliminary program will set the stage for Saturdayโ€™s $50,000-to-win main event.

SALEM, Ala. (Aug. 24, 2026) โ€” Dalton Cook turned a night of attrition into his first victory of the season Friday at Tazewell Speedway, leading the final 38 laps to capture the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series event.

The Salem, Alabama, driver took control on the third lap and never looked back, pulling away from runner-up Joseph Joiner by more than two seconds as mechanical issues eliminated several of the raceโ€™s top contenders. Cookโ€™s fourth career Hunt the Front victory was worth $8,028.

Cookโ€™s path to victory began with a heat race win, which secured his spot in the feature. Starting from the outside of the front row, Cook quickly moved to the lead, overtaking polesitter Travis Fultz on the third circuit. From there, the 34-year-old drove off to the 40-lap victory.

Following his heat race win, Cook offered candid thoughts on the track conditions while emphasizing his appreciation for the Tazewell Speedway fans and facility.

"I ainโ€™t mean to make nobody mad, I speak my mind. I still feel the same way, Iโ€™m just always big on safety. Yโ€™all got a good place, yโ€™all are great fans. The support here is super awesome. So yโ€™all got an awesome thing, donโ€™t take nothing personal, so thereโ€™s a little more back story."

The two-day Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series swing continued Saturday at Smoky Mountain Speedway, where Cook competed in the $12,000-to-win King of the Mountain. He finished third in his heat to earn his way into the 50-lap main event before finishing 12th.

Complete results from the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series weekend are available at www.HTFSeries.com.

Cookโ€™s next scheduled event is the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series event on September 5 at Winder-Barrow Speedway in Georgia.

Dan Ebert Claims Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway
Busy Week Starts Tuesday at Marshalltown

LAKE SHORE, Minn. (Aug. 17, 2026) โ€” Dan Ebert survived a grueling battle of attrition Saturday night at Batesville Motor Speedway to score the biggest victory of his career.

The 38-year-old Minnesota racer charged from 11th to capture the $50,000 Topless 100, overcoming a mid-race tire swap to secure his first career Super Late Model victory with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

โ€œThis is unbelievable, really, to win our first Super Late Model race. We won that dash last week (at Florence), and we have had speed here. To win one of the biggest, hardest races to win is unbelievable. I am just speechless. Itโ€™s just incredible, the crowd here. You know, we ran good here last year, and I just had a good feel for it, and we built on the setups since then,โ€ said Ebert, who led the final 12 laps of the race.

Ebertโ€™s journey to his first win of the season brought the James Trantina-owned team to Arkansas on Friday for the 34th annual Ace Doran Hauling and Rigging Topless 100 presented by Big River Steel.

Ebert opened the weekend by topping the 40-car field in time trials and winning his heat race. He started from the pole in his preliminary feature and appeared headed for a strong finish before a lap-nine flat while leading sent him to the pits. Ebert rallied from the rear to salvage an eighth-place finish.

Starting Saturdayโ€™s Topless 100 from 11th, Ebert once again found himself battling tire issues in an eventful 100-lap feature that saw several competitors encounter similar problems.

After pitting on lap 35 to replace a left-front tire, Ebert began his charge toward the front. He worked his way through the field before taking command and pacing the final 12 circuits to secure his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory.

Ebert crossed the finish line 4.984 seconds ahead of runner-up McDowell, with a deflating right-rear tire becoming apparent during the victory lane celebrations.

โ€œItโ€™s just so hard to know, particularly with all the tire trouble that was happening yesterday,โ€ Ebert added. โ€œItโ€™s just kind of the luck of it, honestly. You know, I tried to be as nice as I could and not slide, but we ended up having a tire go down, which probably was a blessing because we probably had something to race with at the end.โ€

Complete results from the Topless 100 weekend can be found at www.LucasDirt.com.

Ebert has little time to celebrate, with his busy schedule continuing Tuesday at Marshalltown Speedway for the FloRacing Night in America event. The remainder of his week follows:

Aug. 18 โ€“ Marshalltown Speedway: FloRacing Night in America
Aug. 19 โ€“ Mason City Motor Speedway: FloRacing Night in America
Aug. 21-22 โ€“ Maquoketa Speedway: World of Outlaws

Dylan Thornton Collects $10,000 Victory at Macon Speedway
Scores First Career MARS Win in Flag-to-Flag Triumph

ORCUTT, Ca. (Aug. 10, 2026) โ€” Dylan Thornton put together a dominant performance Saturday night at Macon Speedway, leading all 50 laps to capture the 12th annual KerbyStrong and score his first career MARS Late Model Championship Series victory.

The 24-year-old Orcutt, California, native powered the Kay Motorsports / Saltyโ€™s BBQ & Catering No. 38T Longhorn Chassis Late Model to the $10,000 triumph.

"This place is cool. Itโ€™s kinda like what I grew up on, little bullrings back home,โ€ Thornton said. โ€œStarted on the pole and you kinda just run around the bottom the whole time, it was really hard. Honestly, we didnโ€™t even think weโ€™d be running as good as we have, so to finally get the first win out of the way and a pretty good payday, too, weโ€™re stoked about that."

Thorntonโ€™s Illinois doubleheader weekend with the MARS Late Model Championship Series began Friday at Sycamore Speedway for the Sycamore Showcase.

He started and finished sixth in Fridayโ€™s feature before making the trip south to Macon Speedway for Saturdayโ€™s KerbyStrong, where Thornton was nearly untouchable.

After setting fast time in qualifying and winning his heat race, Thornton started from the pole in the 50-lap feature and quickly established himself at the front of the field. He spent the majority of the race navigating the inside lane, keeping reigning MARS champion Jason Feger at bay en route to his first Super Late Model victory of the 2026 season and fifth overall win of the season.

Thornton crossed the finish line 0.259 seconds ahead of Feger, with Mike Spatola completing the podium.

Complete results from the doubleheader weekend can be found at www.MARSRacingSeries.com.

Action with the MARS Late Model Championship Series resumes this weekend with the Illinois Valley Showdown at La Salle Speedway. Twin preliminaries on Friday set the stage for Saturdayโ€™s $20,000-to-win main event.

Josh Rice Captures North-South 100 in Thrilling Florence Speedway Finale
Kentucky Racer Scores Career-Best $75,000 Payday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 10, 2026) โ€” Josh Rice checked off one of the biggest items on his racing bucket list Saturday night at his home track.

The 28-year-old Kentucky racer piloted the JRR Motorsports No. 11 Late Model to a thrilling late-race victory over Jonathan Davenport in the Sunoco North-South 100 at Florence Speedway, scoring the $75,000 payday and the biggest win of his career.

For Rice, the triumph was the culmination of a wild weekend that saw him collect more than $80,000 in prize money and battle through adversity at the Union, Ky., half-mile.

โ€œI am a frickinโ€™ North-South 100 winner,โ€ Rice said in victory lane. โ€œWe put on four different tires, wrecked three different times and we had a Daytona 500 crash on the front stretch. It worked out and I didnโ€™t even know I had a left front. I had about six pep talks when I pitted. I am speechless. What just happened? I canโ€™t thank my dad and mom enough for everything. We have made a mess of this race so many times. I just canโ€™t thank my sponsors enough throughout the years, and just everybody who stuck by me. All of my guys, all of my family and friends are here. Itโ€™s incredible.โ€

Rice joined JRR Motorsports teammates Jason Jameson and Justin Rattliff at Florence Speedway on Thursday, debuting a brand-new Rocket Chassis for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series weekend.

After finishing third in Thursdayโ€™s 25-lap opener, Rice powered to victory in Fridayโ€™s preliminary feature, making a last-lap pass over Bobby Pierce to score the $6,000 triumph and his second win of the 2026 season.

The weekendโ€™s biggest challenge came Saturday in the 100-lap Sunoco North-South 100.

Rice advanced to the $75,000-to-win finale with a second-place finish in his heat race, then survived a massive lap-11 melee involving more than 10 cars. The ensuing chaos forced Rice to make three pit stops, where his team replaced a total of four tires, but the adversity did little to knock the Kentucky driver out of contention.

Rice methodically worked his way back into the mix before engaging Davenport in a spirited late-race battle for the lead. When the checkered flag waved, Rice had held off the Blairsville, Ga., veteran by 0.574 seconds to secure his first North-South 100 victory and the richest payday of his career.

โ€œIt's a dream come true. We've talked about doing this forever,โ€ Rice added. โ€œItโ€™s a dream come true, but I'm in shock really. I canโ€™t thank James Rattliff enough.โ€

Riceโ€™s teammates Rattliff and Jameson had mixed results, with Jamesonโ€™s weekend ending in a wreck in his heat race while Rattliff finished 18th after pitting following the lap-11 melee.

Riceโ€™s LOLMDS campaign will continue this weekend with the Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway. Twin prelims on Friday set the stage for Saturdayโ€™s $50,000-to-win finale.

RISING TO THE OCCASION: Cole Vanderheiden Racing making waves in all ranks of Sprint Car racing

PAPILLION, Neb. (Aug. 4, 2026) โ€” On what is proving to be a direct path to the top, Papillion, Nebraska's own Cole Vanderheiden has been making waves in the open wheel world, and for all the right reasons. In fact, on any given weekend, you can find "Cole Train" just about anywhere, willing to compete in any of the "big three" Sprint Car divisions, and to-date, he has done just that.

โ€œFor me personally, I feel like every lap I can get in any racecar is valuable towards my career,โ€ Vanderheiden said. โ€œGetting the passion to race from my dad is something I will always appreciate, as itโ€™s turned into my entire personality which leads to why I am always at the racetrack.โ€

Vanderheiden, who has crisscrossed much of the Midwest along his journeys thus far this season, has been full speed since January, activating his 2026 campaign with an appearance in the annual Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Oklahoma, quickly transferring his attention to winged sprints by late March. His schedule, impressive by all sense of the word, is active, as well as competitive, enduring all from IMCA starts at nearby facilities such as Eagle Raceway, to heavy-hitting 360 Sprint programs at the Sprint Car Capital of the World - Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. Despite the challenges, Vanderheiden is a proven winner, earning two triumphs in 2026 including a recent 410 Sprint victory at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Aboard the Bowers Family No. 81, the 410 Sprint win was a first for Vanderheiden and a second for the team overall, outdueling many of the region's finest Midwest Sprint Touring Series (MSTS) competitors for the score. Just three days prior, Vanderheiden was victorious with a 305 under the hood, winning an IMCA sanctioned event at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minnesota.

โ€œWinning in both cars within a few days is definitely a confidence booster for both our teams, knowing that we have a car that is capable of winning,โ€ added Vanderheiden. โ€œWinning with Bowers brothers in the 81 car is now the biggest win of my career in my eyes for sure, not just because of the prize money. We have only had about 14 races together, and have developed a great team morale going up and down the road together.โ€

Despite the month of August already up and running, Vanderheiden's 2026 calendar is far from complete. Upcoming destinations include a number of the nation's largest marquee events including Eagle Raceway's IMCA Racesaver Nationals over Labor Day Weekend, along with the 48th running of the Bank Midwest Jackson Nationals at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota.

No matter the destination, hype, or payday, for Cole Vanderheiden, the goals remains the same - set the bar high and push to the next level.

โ€œIโ€™ve always set my goals at a higher standard to push myself as hard as I can to get to the top someday,โ€ Vanderheiden concluded. โ€œJust continuing to make the A-Mains at these bigger races and making consistent and faster laps is huge for me. The Racesaver Nationals is one on the bucket list to win in our 15v, getting our first win in the 3z is one I really need to capture for Zach, and running up front more consistently with Rick and Chris in the 81.โ€

Cole Vanderheiden would like to thank his current marketing partners, which include GinaV Physical Therapy, Wilson Premier Powder Coating, ClaimSmart, BradCo Companies, Chariots 4 Hope, Shadow Lake Collision Center, Titanium HVAC, Cake Pops by Brynn, The Syndicate Agency, BEYOND All Stars, The Pit BBQ Lounge, and MyRacePass Marketing Services.
