Finally it's the Weekend! And it's a long weekend for some!
There are several events and activities going on this weekend in our coverage area so if you are out and about you might want to check them out. The events listed here are the ones that the Lincoln News were informed of.
Friday, September 4
• The Farmers Market will be from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Square in downtown Lincoln. FMI, contact Shawn Rogers at 794-3372 ext 1 or [email protected].
• SHERMAN OLD HOME DAYS Friends of the Library Book Sale, 10:00 a.m.
• Littles in the Library, for kids under 5 and their adults, 10:30 a.m. at Millinocket Memorial Library, 5 Maine Ave. 723-7020 FMI.
• Magic the Gathering games at 12 p.m., Gambling Support Group - 3:00 p.m. and Better Together Fitness Friends at 4 p.m. at Save A Life Recovery Center, 19 VFW Street, Lincoln.
• Youth Group from 3:30 to 5 p.m. for ages 12-18 at the Howland Baptist Church. FMI call 732-3170.
• Carl Burrill Post 77 BINGO at the American Legion, 3 Fleming St., Lincoln. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. Light refreshments available.
• Annual Recovery Block Party from 5-7 p.m. At Save A Life Recovery Resource Center, 19 VFW Street. Lincoln. Food, music, rides, games, art, raffle, free t-shirts.
• The Good News Music Jam Worship and Singalong from 6-8 p.m. at Community Church, 124 River Rd., Lincoln. All welcome. Free admission. FMI call/ text Jerry at 207 290 9081.
• Pine Tree Coin Club looking for Lincoln/Katahdin region area members. Meetings at 6:00 p.m. at Greater Bangor Y Farrar Mansion, 17 Second St., Bangor. FMI: David (478-1105).
• Bandstand Jam at Veterans Memorial Park, Millinocket from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. featuring Smoked Salmon. Free and family friendly.
• First Friday Community Music Jam, 6:30 p.m. at Boreal Theater, 215 Penobscot Ave., Millinocket.
• GOODMANS GRILL at 7 p.m. presents an evening of epic fun with an outdoor movie screening of Back to the Future.There is also an All-American food combo for purchase. Other activities include bass fishing, a petting farm and boat rentals. Located on the Chester Road in Chester.
Saturday, September 5
• Quad County Snowmobile Club pancake/waffle breakfast from 7-10 a.m. at the clubhouse in Springfield.
• Men’s Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. at Maranatha Riverside Church, 176 River Road, Lincoln.
• SHERMAN OLD HOME DAYS cancer walk and color run registration, 9:30 a.m. at the bandstand. Walk and run begin at 10:00 a.m. Bandstand opens at 10:00 a.m. Day includes book sale, annual poker run, auction, yard sale, kids bike ride, alumni social hour and banquet, public dance and fireworks at dark.
• Music Club at 5:00 p.m. under the guidance of Stanley Mitchell at Save a Life, 19 VFW Street, Lincoln. Guitars, mics, drums and keyboard available for use or bring your own. Free childcare available.
• Eli Lev Live at Boreal Theater, 7:00 p.m. Indie folk, Americana and storytelling. Tickets available for purchase. 215 Penobscot Ave., Millinocket.
Sunday, September 6
• SHERMAN OLD HOME DAYS, begins at 7:30 a.m. w/ breakfast at the Masonic Hall. Day includes co-ed softball tourney, book sale, Little Miss Sherman, lobster dinner, music/karaoke, children’s parade, free cotton candy/ice cream, pageants.
• Drop-in pickleball for all skill levels. 10:00 a.m. - noon, Stearns High School gym.
• Howland Senior Christian Singles Bible Study activities and social from 1-4 p.m. All welcome. Call or text 207-447-5600 FMI.
Monday, September 7 - Labor Day
• SHERMAN OLD HOME DAYS begins at 7:30 a.m. with pumpkin donuts at the Red House. Day includes co-ed softball tourney, America’s 250th themed parade, book sale, craft fair, car cruising, Music in the Park, Bingo. Corn Hole tournament, bike drawing and more.
