We're asking because we want to act on what you say. This week our stores have a Kobalt 24V 4 Tool Combo Kit in Roanoke, a Gretsch G5420T With Case in Harrisonburg, and a Ninja Luxe Cafe Premier Series in Culpeper. We'll read every answer and post what we changed, even if it's not what we expected. Which should we stock more of: tools, guitars, or kitchen gear?

Big weekend coming up in Lexington. The Institute's Family Weekend runs Oct 23-25, and Saturday the 24th is full: Keydets football at home, W&L hosting Hampden-Sydney for Hall of Fame Weekend, and a dress parade on the Parade Ground. Kickoff and parade times are on the schools' own schedules, so check those before you head out. Hope everybody gets some good fall weather and a great seat.

Out here in Rockbridge County, there's a friendly split over Goshen Pass. One camp says the full name, Goshen Pass, every time. The other camp just says "Goshen" and expects you to keep up. Settle it for us.

Friday night in Lexington means Rockbridge County High School football. Good luck tonight to the Wildcats in blue, silver and white. Play hard, play together, and have a great time out there. Hope the stands are full and loud.

First frost in Lexington usually shows up somewhere between Oct 16 and Oct 31, so that first real cold morning is close. The textured brick sidewalks downtown were made at the Chilhowie Brick Plant between 1880 and 1910, and they were roughed up on purpose for traction on our hills. Good to remember when the walk to work gets a little frosty. The W&L Generals are home tomorrow, Oct 10, so bring a jacket and enjoy the game.
