🚀 FT2: New Ultra-Fast Digital Mode Tested on HF

A new and highly experimental digital mode called FT2 has just entered its first on-air testing phase. On February 16, 2026 at 22:47 UTC, a small group of Italian radio amateurs reported the first successful signal exchanges using a modified WSJT-X codebase aimed at one goal: extreme-speed QSOs.

An S4 severe solar radiation storm is now in progress - this is the largest solar radiation storm in over 20 years. The last time S4 levels were observed was in October, 2003. Potential effects are mainly limited to space launch, aviation, and satellite operations.
