Today we celebrate 14 years of service with our friend and colleague, Renee Jones. Renee is technically our office manager, but that title grossly understates her contribution to our firm. Renee is the “glue” that holds this organization together, and she does whatever needs to be done – glamorous or not - day in and day out, with a smile and attention to detail that is uncommon these days.

She is also an enthusiastic cheerleader for our entire team, very good at what she does, and TechKnowledge would not be the same without her. We thank her for all these years of dedicated service to our clients and Houston team, and look forward to many more!

Great experience at the primary Audio/Visual trade show, Infocomm. Key takeaways:

 Most every offering has significantly enhanced capabilities for the same or less money than a year ago.

 Many manufacturers have embraced Hybrid Work and are offering a broader array of products, including home office, a Teams enabled telephone, and similar products.

 Almost every manufacturer has or announced a video bar for small and medium sized rooms, though they vary greatly in performance and price.

 Video wall prices are dramatically less expensive, yet quality is significantly improved. The conversation now starts below $40K. One provider announced a transparent video wall, which could be useful in retail or hospitality.

 Loudspeaker offerings have advanced, many offering incredible fidelity and clarity in smaller, very affordable loudspeakers.

 Some vendors announced Hybrid Work offerings, such as desk scheduling and reporting

 Overall, lead times are returning closer to normal, with a handful of exceptions.

Sad day for the TechKnowledge family. We lost our co founder, Richard Langseth yesterday due to an accidental fall. Richard was everything one could hope for in a business partner: Mensa smart, great with clients, intensely loyal, and utterly hysterical. Though he had stepped back from most of his responsibilities at TechKnowledge, he and Robin are very much part of the TechKnowledge family. I invite your prayers for his family.

Please join us in congratulating David Ebbert on a well earned promotion to Senior Consultant.

David joined us one week prior to Covid, then was immediately thrust into designing our most complex A/V deployment ever at Sempra LNG. He did it all by video call, and delivered a tremendous project on time, and within budget to the delight of the client. We would never have thought a project of that scale could be designed by video, but he pulled it off.

Over the last two years, he has also served Lone Star College, Vinson & Elkins, TCH and TSU, and is currently underway on Next Decade, Pattern Energy, and others!

David “Exceeds the client’s expectations” every time.
