An artist whose work I love is Charley Harper. He pioneered "minimal realism," transforming complex ecosystems into vibrant, flat geometric shapes. Instead of painting every individual feather, he used simple circles, triangles, and teardrops to capture the essence of wildlife. Fueled by a passion for conservation, Harper didn't just depict animals—he captured their entire habitats, behaviors, and witty personalities.

This poem resonates deeply with me because of its beautiful relationship with the elements. The tree depicted here is intertwined with the natural world, braving the changing seasons—a true testament to endurance. It was one of my mother’s favorite poems and creating a calligraphy tribute to it for her years ago remains a cherished memory.
