Hiring a marketing agency is a big investment. Asking the wrong questions (or none at all) is how businesses end up 6 months in with nothing to show for it.
Before you sign anything, make sure you cover these:
Strategy and goal alignment - Do they actually understand your business, or are they selling a template?
Team structure - Who's doing the work? Is it the person on the sales call, or someone you've never met?
Pricing and scope - What's included, what's extra, and who owns the deliverables if you leave?
Reporting - Can they connect their work to revenue, or do they hide behind vanity metrics?
SEO and technical depth - Can they explain their process, or do they just say "we do SEO"?
Red flags - Guaranteed rankings, no case studies, or pressure to sign fast are all signs to walk away.
