What great timing. The FCC just approved order 23-93 that removes the Baud Rate Limit on Amateur Radio (HAM). This is a very, very significant change from the prior restriction of 300 baud.

We will now be able to use the ever evolving technology of the wireless industry to enhance data communications on the long distance, HF Bands of Amateur Radio Communications.

I have a lot to research, read, interpret and discuss with my peers to fully understand this change however, in initial review, I cannot see anything but a positive future.

The Commission adopts this R&O and FNPRM to eliminate the baud rate limitation and establish a bandwidth limitation in certain amateur bands. The item also proposes removal of the baud rate limitation in several additional bands.

This weekend was a very tough test of the live, in-car streaming project - we were able to succeed with the multi-cam addition of the project on Saturday after nothing on Friday.

The biggest problem on Saturday was a totally mismanaged, Verizon Wireless tower in Tonopah, Nevada. Whomever the Ops Manager is for eNB 20031, you should be 100% ashamed of the service performance of that tower. It is the very worst Verizon service I have ever experienced and the people of Tonopah who have to rely on that site, deserve better.

Once the race car moved away from Tonopah and on to better managed towers we were able to lock in a couple hours of solid in-car live streaming with multiple cameras, all controlled remotely.

Very poor cell coverage today and one failed component in the multi-cam kit. That's why we keep trying, refining, and advancing when we can. Tomorrow should be much better cell coverage.

1035 scored a solid 2nd place finish which is a great way to start tomorrow.
