One of the questions I get asked more than usual is whether I only photograph college-level athletes. The answer is a huge no.
I would never turn my back on the athletes and families who helped build my business. While I’ve been blessed with opportunities to photograph college and professional athletes, every athlete means something to me regardless of their level. Every athlete has a story, a dream, and a journey worth capturing.
A perfect example is this team from NFL FLAG, operated by Prodigy Tees and owner Chente Robles. In my opinion, it is one of the best organized youth sports programs around. The structure, discipline, and respect shown by the coaches, athletes, and families is something special. One thing I truly appreciate is that when the game is over, the focus remains on the athletes and coaches. We've all seen how emotional sports can get, but it's important to remember that referees are human, coaches are human, and athletes are human. Mistakes will happen. Calls won't always go our way. That's part of the game.
Sports are about much more than winning. They're about discipline, learning teamwork, understanding plays, building character, and learning how to handle both victory and defeat with class.
This particular team was special for me to cover. Years ago, I photographed Jay Salas as a young athlete. I watched him grow, graduate, and now I've had the privilege of photographing not only his team but also his son. Moments like that remind me why I love what I do.
Photography has never been about chasing the biggest stage. It's about preserving memories, celebrating athletes at every level, and being part of their journey. Whether you're in youth sports, high school, college, or the professional ranks, I'll always bring the same passion, energy, and commitment to telling your story.
That's what Andy Gonzalez Photography is all about.
