ntific community. CLS America, headquartered in Lanham, MD, was established in 1986, a fully-owned subsidiary of CLS. Since 1986, CLS America has been organized as an operational satellite data centre, which collects, archives and disseminates data collected by satellite, including Argos and Iridium, to Governmental users: NOAA, DOD, US federal law enforcement agencies, national weather services, major universities and institutions. CLS America is the only Argos service provider for North American, Mexico, and Central America. The company, Atlantic Shores, has hired Larry Niles, a wildlife biologist, to attach satellite tags to 30 red knots to collect data on their flight path and altitude that can be used to judge whether a proposed wind farm off Atlantic City would conflict with the migration.

It's always a sad situation when whales get entangled, but three over a short period of time and one having 200ft of rope removed is very disheartening.

We look forward to the continued efforts in reducing whale entanglements that is happening on the Central Coast in California and in the New England waters both in the USA and Canada (and elsewhere).
