Today, we’re celebrating a milestone birthday for someone who has helped tell the Organized Haven story for five whole years - Karlie Holliday of helloCreate! 💛 Welcome to your 40s, Karlie! 🎉

As our social media manager and creative designer, Karlie works her magic largely behind the scenes. She has helped shape how Organized Haven looks, sounds, and shares its story - and when we get together, we can’t help talking about marketing, dreaming up ideas, and planning what comes next!

We recently celebrated over lunch at Nineteen61, followed by coffee at Black & Brew. During lunch, I finally revealed one secret I had somehow kept from her: I purchased NicoleRamer.com! As my service and professional relationships continue growing beyond Organized Haven and Central Florida, Karlie is the perfect person to help me connect the dots and decide how that next chapter should be shared.

We also talked about the excitement of entering our 40s - becoming more comfortable in our own skin, more intentional about our health, and even more certain about what we want to create.

After five years of working, planning, dreaming, and celebrating together, our families will finally meet at her birthday party next weekend! It feels long overdue, and I can’t wait.

I’ve heard several top social media experts talking about the return of “boring marketing” lately, and as a social media manager…Thank God! 😂

The days of the perfectly curated feed are fading. Not every post needs a trending audio, clever hook, or a perfectly polished graphic. People are craving content that feels more natural and actually human.

That doesn’t mean branding and strategy don’t matter, it just means we can stop trying to reinvent the wheel with every single post.

Talk about what you do, answer the questions your customers are asking, and share the random photo. Trust me, they probably didn’t see it the first time anyway. Ha!

Can I get a “HELL YEAH!” for less performing for the algorithm and more marketing the actual business?! 👏

I swear if I see one more AI-generated social media graphic with the same font, glowing text, stock photo, and electric blue and hot pink color palette, I may lose it! 🙄

You know exactly what I’m talking about because you’ve seen them too. They all look the same, and after a while, they all blur together.

If your content looks like everyone else’s, why would anyone stop scrolling for yours?

I know it’s faster to generate a graphic in 30 seconds, but your audience can tell the difference…TRUST!

Just some food for thought…💭🤔

This is unlike any organization I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and after learning more about their vision, I can honestly say I can’t wait to help share their story. When I started helloCreate, I thought I was building a business around social media and content creation. But what I didn’t realize was that I’d get the opportunity to work with so many great people along the way. 🫶🏼

Is it just me, or are AI graphics getting louder? 😬

A fellow business owner recently told me that ChatGPT graphics stress her out because they feel like they’re yelling at her. I laughed out load because I immediately knew what she meant!

I have nothing against ChatGPT! I use it all the time for my business, and it’s one of the many tools that helps me work smarter.

However, somewhere along the way, a lot of social media graphics started looking exactly the same - the giant text, strange (and unrealistic) illustrations, random floating objects, etc.

What’s also crazy is that I’m starting to see people call it out in the comments and say things like “Yep, that’s definitely AI!”

Your business deserves better than a copy-and-paste visual identity. AI is a tool and it shouldn’t become your entire marketing strategy. Your brand needs a human behind it!

Life lately. 💛

I haven’t shared much about what I’ve been up to lately, so here’s a little update.

A lot of my time has been spent doing white label social media work for a local branding agency. It’s been very interesting and I’ve learned a lot.

I’ve also continued to support my own clients, helping them show up consistently online and tell their stories in a way that feels true to their brand.

Outside of work, life has been filled with all the usual mom and wife responsibilities. School schedules, appointments, errands, sports, laundry, cooking, etc. 🙃

I’m also getting ready to turn 40 next month…WOAH!

This season has been full, and while I haven’t been posting as much, I’ve still been creating and hustling behind-the-scenes.

With that said, I do have room to take on a couple more clients, and I’m also open to white label partnerships with agencies that need social media support.

March check-in! 👋👋

There have been some new opportunities, new connections, and things in the works that remind me of why I started helloCreate in the first place. At the same time, this season has also come with challenges. Social media is always changing, and with budgets getting tighter, I have felt the impact. I’ve lost clients and have had to pivot, and I’ve had days where I questioned what I was even doing. 🤔

But, this is the reality of owning a business. No matter how big or small it is, there are always going to be highs and lows. The wins feel really good, and the hard seasons can feel really crappy.

When I start to feel discouraged, I try to zoom out and look at how far I’ve come in the last 5 years. This business started as an idea, and somehow it turned into something real, and that doesn’t just disappear because of a tough season.

If you are in a hard season of business right now, you are not alone. Keep going! There is a why reason you took the leap!

LOVE how these turned out! 🤩

After nearly 13 years in business, I finally have official presentation folders and a speaker one-sheet for Organized Haven.

For all of those years, my focus has been pretty simple:
about 5% sales and 95% service.

Helping seniors and their families navigate life’s transitions has always come first, which means I’ve never put much energy into marketing beyond a business card, rack card, or the occasional flyer.

But I’ve realized that if we want to serve people well, our information should be easy to access, clear, and professional for the communities and industry partners we work with.

So this is one small step toward presenting Organized Haven - and the work we do - in a way that reflects the heart behind it.

On my desk is a sign that says:
“Grow Through What You Go Through.”

That phrase has guided so much of my own journey, and it’s exactly what I see every day with the families we serve.

Now I’m excited to start visiting communities and connecting with more partners so we can continue supporting seniors and families together.
