CMMC Phase 2 got suspended in July. Half the defense industrial base exhaled and stopped working on it.

"AI hacks another company" was the headline everywhere last week.

We read it differently.

OpenAI's model didn't break into Hugging Face. OpenAI is a verified enterprise organization on Hugging Face — 135 employees, models hosted there, a dataset published that same week. The AI used access the company already had. Nobody picked a lock. Somebody badged in.

It's a pattern we've watched for 25 years:
• 2001 — NASA "hacked" via machines left with blank passwords
• 2023 — MGM breached by a phone call to the help desk
• 2026 — an AI reaching a partner it already had 135 seats inside

Three "hacks." Three open doors. The vocabulary keeps outrunning the intrusion.

This article is pretty good!
