3D Visualization linked to Simulations for Incident Response
Like many companies, CRLT worked rapidly to build a 3D visualization of the attempted assassination. There are some video fly-throughs that look impressive and there are others that are grossly inaccurate.
Our CEO, Tod Langley, was concerned about putting out something that could misrepresent the facts, as there are still numerous pieces of information scattered or unavailable to the public.
We also wanted to shy away from pointing fingers while amassing the evidence.
Tod was in Pennsylvania this week (coincidentally) engaging various institution, law enforcement, and county emergency management leaders while awaiting further developments. His passion and concern were such that he asked everyone he encountered if there would be someway to gain access to the Butler grounds for first-hand observations. Not to inflame the situation or to point fingers but to put together an accurate simulation for everyone's awareness and use; he was unsuccessful.
Know, that behind the scenes, CRLT is still creating an accurate representation of the environment, that also allows for tabletop and functional exercise controls.
If you're are newer to CRLT's solution, you may not know that we create exacting details of environments to use for emergency management awareness, education, training, rehearsals, and assessments/validation. So, we are working hard to recreate, in detail, the events of last Saturday.
As an example, on Sunday - Monday night, we put in the individual trees based on sat imagery...with the approximate heights to look at Line of Sight challenges between the shooter and one of the counter sniper teams and discovered that it appeared there was adequate concealment for the threat to have gotten into position without detection by that team, indicating that there should have been overlapping counter sniper coverage...which there was.
Things are continuing to unfold at a rapid pace, but CRLT is watching it all closely and continuing to build out a visualization of the rally.
It will be released, once we are satisfied that we are able to represent all of the detailed facts, accurately.
As a special note and thank you, we want to express our sincere appreciation to one of the witnesses at the rally that was extremely close to the violence that shared their story with Tod. This has led us into more "deep diving" into the environment and significant events at a second to second timeline. The pain, frustration, sadness, anger are all real.
We hope that final simulation we will share is somehow of support to everyone.
Note: the included graphics are continually being updated based on incoming reports and may no longer accurately depict the current, known facts.
