I've been building websites using WORDPRESS for many years now... recently, I joined in a "forum" for a new "editor" for WP, called GUTENBERG. The short of it is this... GUTENBERG is a piece of crud that uses "blocks" (much like SquareSpace) that newbies and lazy bloggers can use to "pretty up" their blogs... those of us who have taken the time to learn how to use the existing editor (over many years) realized right away that this new package would "break" many of the existing plugins we were using, and render parts of our toolsets useless. & of course, I jumped right into the fray... what's primarily at issue is whether GUTENBERG gets added into the WP CORE, or stays as an optional PLUGIN... admittedly, some of my posts were passionate, but none were disrespectful of others!
Here's what I got back from one of the folks on the development team this morning... "I got this notice, based on a response I made to another’s posting…
“your accounts have been put on moderation watch, this means one of our volunteers will manually approve your posts before they are shown publicly, only for a period of time until we see that you’re not trying to incite reactions on other reviews”
AMAZING... "censorship" in the DEV community... while I was quite angry about that, what's more important is that it's quite clear (to me, anyway) that the GUTENBERG dev team wants to SQUELCH any dissatisfaction with their package in order to ENSURE it gets RAMMED down our throats in an upcoming release of WP.
For that reason, I ask that ANY & ALL of you who understand (even a little bit) what I'm talking about visit the following RATING page, read through some of the comments, and RATE the package as LOW as possible... https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/gutenberg/reviews
It's QUITE IMPORTANT that this happen, or we will wind up with an editor in WP that caters to the "lowest common denominator", i.e., the lazy folks who don't want to have to learn how to use advanced editing tools.
My thanks in advance!
