As you all may know, Deer Park is our neighboring city. The fire that had been burning since late Sunday night at the ITCDP plant is finally out as of Wednesday evening, but the 8 storage tanks continued to smolder. This, unfortunately, put off an “invisible plume” with high levels of benzene, a known carcinogen. Most of the city within the effected area had come to a stand still.

We at Lunatic Techs are safe (thank you Lord) here in La Porte….for now. All of our techs in the field used safe alternate routes this week and are all good as well. Business as usual, the show must go on…

The City of Deer Park as well as entities including the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Harris County HAZMAT are continually monitoring air quality in and around Deer Park. There is no Shelter-in-Place at this time.

We are hiring satellite installation techs.

Qualifications :

Must possess a valid driver's license

Must be able to speak English, and communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner

Solid written communication skills required

Schedules can be flexible, but you must be willing to work based on work or project volume. This may include, although rare, nights or weekends.

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening, including drug test, criminal background check, and training

Experience in telecommunications, electrical, construction, or related field is preferred, but not necessary

Satellite, Wifi and internet connectivity experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Working knowledge of handheld electronics, including smart phones, iPads, etc., preferred

Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and climb ladders up to 40 feet in length

Must be able to work in tight spaces such as telco closets or attics

Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions, including precipitation and temperature variations

Applicants need to have their own vehicle & tools. Financial assistance with tools can be provided based on individual case review.

Are there any computer guru's out there who can tell me the best way to add a form to my website that will allow visitors to send an SMS directly to my phone? I am using PHP scripts for my "mail-to" forms, but I'm not sure if my hosting company supports SMS gateway. Does it matter? And can someone direct me to a script I can use? Anyone.......?
