Mac Guys Tip of the Week: Find My iPhone

We've all had those moments where we can't remember where we left our phone. Luckily, Apple has a feature called Find My that can help you locate it!

Here's how to make sure it's turned on:

Open Settings on your iPhone.

Tap your name at the top.

Select Find My → Find My iPhone.

Make sure Find My iPhone is turned on.

If you ever lose your iPhone:

Open the Find My app on another Apple device or visit iCloud.com/find.

Select your iPhone from the list of devices.

You can see its location on a map, play a sound to help find it, or mark it as lost.

We also recommend turning on Find My network and Send Last Location in your settings. These can be helpful if your phone is offline or running low on battery.

It's a simple feature that's worth having set up before you need it!

Hidden iPhone Settings Worth Changing

There are a lot of iPhone settings that are easy to miss, but a few of them can actually make your phone a little easier to use.

Back Tap
Go to Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap
You can set a double or triple tap on the back of your phone to take a screenshot, turn on the flashlight, and more.

Location Settings
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
Take a look at which apps have access to your location. Some of them may not need it all the time.

App Tracking
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
You can see which apps have asked to track your activity and change those permissions anytime.

Keyboard Feedback
Go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Keyboard Feedback
You can turn keyboard sounds on or off and add haptic feedback while you type.

Shake to Undo
Go to Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Shake to Undo
If you’re always accidentally getting the “Undo Typing” pop-up, this one may be worth turning off.
