Our Stukel tower site, Langell Valley, Bonanza, Dairy, and Bear Valley sites are currently down due to a Pacific Power outage. Looks to be restored by 12:00 P.M.

The fiber between Klamath Falls and Lakeview was repaired just before 5PM, our customers in Lakeview and the Goose Lake Valley should be back to normal speeds.

For those curious to see the damaged CenturyLink (Lumen) fiber from Klamath Falls to Lakeview, that disrupted communications for many other communications companies in the Lakeview area and other communities nearby, here are some of the damaged sections. We've omitted any photos that show pole numbers or reveal the actual cable location.

Probably a lot of people thought the fiber from Klamath to Lakeview was buried. Parts are, but many miles of it are above-ground on poles. That's why we continue to maintain our own independent backup link from Klamath to Lakeview, our Internet service hasn't gone down during the recent fiber outages.

To our Lakeview area customers, speeds may be a little lower during peak usage hours than usual, but we're the only Internet provider that is still up and running in the Lakeview area. The Golden fire between Bonanza and Beatty burnt the Lumen/Level3/CenturyLink owned fiber cable connecting Klamath Falls to Lakeview.

We have our own independent backup microwave link between Klamath and Lakeview that continues providing our Lakeview area customers Internet in the meantime. Our Internet service continued operating when all the others went down, but we appreciate your patience with the temporarily reduced speeds, particularly during the evening peak usage hours.

Our hearts go out to those who have lost everything in the fire, the fire crews, and utility workers who are doing everything they can to repair the damage. We had a look at the damaged fiber and utility poles this afternoon and the work facing the crews working on the fiber repairs looks daunting.

Edit - The fiber between Klamath Falls and Lakeview was repaired at 9:35AM, speeds should be back to normal.

Speeds in the Lakeview and Goose Lake Valley area are running slower than usual. The fiber cable between Klamath Falls and Lakeview was cut at an unknown location at 4PM on Sunday (June 11), taking out all other Internet providers, phone service, 911, and about half of the cell phone carriers in the area. The carrier that owns the fiber line still hasn't found the location of the break.

We're the only Internet provider still up and running in the Lakeview area, although at lower than usual speeds. We still maintain a backup microwave link over the mountains between Klamath Falls and Lakeview for these types of situations, but it has less capacity than the fiber connection between towns.

Sorry about the outage for folks on the former SteelNet / FiberXStream tower sites. A truck snagged the power lines near the building the SteelNet hub site is located in near the Fairgrounds, and knocked out power and damaged fiber on the poles. We're gathering up extension cords and a generator to go power the SteelNet hub site back up. All of the main FireServe tower sites and our fiber customers are unaffected.

In relation to the fiber cut on Spring Lake Rd late this morning - Things should be back in operation, although speeds may not be as speedy this evening as we're running on backup links to Merrill, Malin and Bonanza and our nearby tower sites in that area until fiber repairs and splicing are completed later tonight.
