One of the issues with doing astronomy here at Oregon Tech (besides inconsistent weather and very cold nights), is that sometimes objects close on our Southern and Western horizons (the sides facing the college and Klamath Falls) are lost in the light pollution. A great many people leave lights on at night not because they need to, but either because they forget or because they don't care. Please remember to turn off unnecessary lights at night; it's better for the environment, it's better for your budget, and it's better for stargazing.
Promoting light pollution awareness by capturing the beauty of the cosmos as revealed under dark skies in contrast to what we see under city lights.
