Welcome to all my new followers! 🌊

Here’s a little 👋 hello and a rundown about me. I’m Erin, an artist and designer originally from Richmond, Virginia, now living in Kitty Hawk. I’ve called the Outer Banks home for over 18 years, but my love for this place started much earlier. I grew up visiting Hatteras, and during college I started spending my summers here. I always knew there was something special about the OBX and always wanted to live here full time.

Before starting Salty INKS over five years ago, I worked in branding and logo design. Now I get to bring that creative background to colorful art inspired by the places, landmarks, and little details that make the Outer Banks feel like home—and create meaningful mementos for visitors to take home.💜

Did you know the tradition of Christmas in July started right here in North Carolina at Keystone Camp in Brevard back in 1933? I just read the story in Our State Magazine , and it inspired me to join in the fun!

The haze from the Canadian wildfires made its way all the way to Kitty Hawk today, softening the view across the sound and turning the sun into a glowing orange circle. Looks similar to what I create in my art.
