Just a message to all of our customers, and anyone else of course, who are currently using any of the Kaspersky Internet Security products, The Biden administration & the US Commerce Department announced they will officially ban Kaspersky sales effective July 20th in the USA for all users, home and corporate. On September 29th, any user running a Kaspersky product will no longer receive updates. Due to this decision, we have ceased all sales of Kaspersky effective immediately and are recommending our customers migrate to a different Internet Security Software as soon as practical for continued protection. We will be happy to assist anyone needing to migrate to a different product. We are currently migrating to the Avast line of products ourselves. We will also prorate any of our customers who purchased a Kaspersky product from us that will be affected by this decision by our government. We do not know of any past issues with Kaspersky products and we feel it is still an excellent product, but we understand why the government is doing this due to the current issues with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Kaspersky is produced by a Russian owned company.
An update for informational purposes:
I did some research and while there are no known issues that I have found yet, it has been reported that the Russian-owned company, Kaspersky, has been reported to be in communication with Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and is responsible for providing them with real-time intelligence and identifying data on customers’ computers. Plus, the domain of the Russian Ministry of Defense is hosted in Kaspersky's infrastructure, and Eugene Kaspersky, the owner of the company, has recently refused to condemn the Russian army's unlawful military actions in Ukraine. So, while it's still a top rated program, the fact that it is Russian owned and some of the actions of the company and it's owner have made it to be preemtively questionable going forward.
