Having a governance framework is one thing.
Being able to show how decisions were made, who was involved, and what evidence supports them is another.
The AAA's 2026 benchmark study found that while 87% of organisations have some form of AI governance in place, only 22% are very confident they could produce evidence of governance decisions when required.
That gap matters.
Accountability is not only about assigning responsibility. It is also about having a reliable record that allows decisions to be understood, reviewed, and demonstrated when needed.
This is where technology can play an important role.
It doesn't replace accountability.
It makes accountability easier to demonstrate.
