🤖 **Should AI build your website?**

I’m a web designer — and my answer might surprise you.

Recently, I gave an AI design tool a real client’s branding and asked it to create a website concept.

⏱️ About 5 minutes later, I had a complete design.

💰 It cost me about $2.

And you know what?

**It was actually pretty good.** 😳

So… should you still hire a web designer?

That’s the question I’ll be tackling during my 8-minute featured presentation at BNI this Wednesday.

I’ll share how I’m actually using AI in my web design business, what it does incredibly well, where it falls short, and why I believe the smartest approach isn’t **AI vs. human** — it’s knowing how to use both.

If you're a business owner who's curious about AI, building a website, or just wondering how all of this is changing the way we market our businesses, I'd love to have you join us!

Your team can't work fast if their tech is slow.

Business moves quicker than ever, and jobs often go to whoever replies first. But if your team is stuck fighting with laggy laptops, dropping internet, or crashing software, they are spending half their day just waiting around.

Not only does slow tech lose you clients, but it frustrates your best employees. Good staff hate being held back by bad gear.

Don't let bad tech slow down your business growth. From rock-solid connectivity to managed IT and VoIP solutions, Square W ensures your tech works exactly as fast as you need it to.

Soon, the person calling your business might not be a person at all.

Google is rolling out new AI assistants that ring local businesses to check inventory, book appointments, or ask about pricing on behalf of customers.

If your business relies on phone calls, it’s time to prepare.
Here is Square W's advice to get your team—and your tech—ready for the AI era:

Brief your staff: Let your team know that some callers will soon be AI agents. Don't hang up! AI just wants the data. Be 100% accurate: Answer questions clearly and directly. Ensure any pricing, opening hours, or inventory info given over the phone is exact.

Upgrade your phone systems: Ensure your phone lines can handle modern digital call volumes and smart routing. Legacy phone systems drop calls; modern VoIP keeps you connected.

Technology is moving fast, and missed calls mean missed revenue. Square W’s VoIP solutions ensure your business communications are fast, flexible, and built to handle whatever the future of tech throws at you.

Did you know your Microsoft account allows logins from anywhere in the world by default?

Most cyber attacks are just automated bots overseas testing thousands of stolen passwords. If your business only operates locally, there's absolutely no reason to allow a login from halfway across the globe.

Square W’s quick fix: Use Conditional Access in Microsoft 365.

This setting blocks login attempts from outside your approved countries—even if a hacker has the right password. While a determined attacker could use a local VPN to bypass it, this one setting stops the massive flood of automated bot attacks dead in their tracks.

Setting this up requires the right Microsoft plan and admin access. Don't want to mess with the backend settings? Square W can configure your Microsoft 365 security to keep the bots out.

Last week, the email account of Keizer's own Police Chief was hacked and used to send phishing emails to contacts as far away as Idaho. The emails looked exactly like they came from him—because they did.

That’s the scary reality of modern cyberattacks. Hackers don't always need your password if they can get just one employee to click a malicious link on their machine. Once they are in, they use your trusted name to attack your clients, partners, and vendors. Trust becomes their weapon.

The FBI reported $3 billion in business-email-compromise losses last year alone—and small organizations relying on basic, shared inboxes were the primary victims.

Here is Square W's advice to protect your business's reputation:

Audit your exposure: When was the last time you reviewed your email security setup?
Move beyond passwords: Basic passwords aren't enough anymore. You need proper network security and multi-factor authentication.
Train your team: One click is all it takes. Make sure your staff knows how to spot the latest credential-harvesting emails.

If you run a business in the Salem/Keizer area, don't wait for your inbox to be compromised. Square W can lock down your email and keep your operations safe.

Think twice before clicking "Sign in with Google."

It’s fast, but it ties all your tools to one login. If a hacker breaches that single account—or if Google suddenly suspends it—you lose access to your email and every app tied to it in one go.

Here is Square W's advice to protect your business:

Separate your logins: For tools your business relies on, take the extra minute to create a unique username and password.
Turn on 2FA: Always enable two-factor authentication for an extra layer of security.
Lock down your main email: Since so much runs through your primary Google account, make sure it has the strongest security settings possible.

Don't put all your digital eggs in one basket. Need help locking down your business accounts? Square W has you covered.

Fake AI tools are stealing passwords. Here’s how it happens:

Someone on your team searches for a popular AI app, clicks the top result (which is a fake ad), and downloads malware that looks exactly like the real thing.

At Square W, we’re seeing a massive spike in these attacks.

Here is our advice to protect your team:
🚫 Go direct: Never click search ads to download software. Type the website directly into your browser.
🛑 Stay skeptical: If you aren't 100% sure a site is real, don't hit download.
✅ Standardize: Agree on a list of approved AI tools so your team isn't downloading random apps to test them out.

Keep your business safe. Need backup? Square W has your cybersecurity covered.

That slow, lagging laptop sitting on your employee's desk is costing you significantly more than a modern replacement would.

Holding onto computers until they completely fail seems budget-friendly on paper, but the actual loss in productive work hours tells a different story. Between sluggish boot times, frozen video calls, and system crashes, a machine that is 3 to 4 years old wastes hours of billable time each month. Worse, outdated hardware stops receiving critical security patches, creating a high-risk security vulnerability.

Instead of paying unpredictable hourly rates to fix dying equipment, Square W provides structured hardware procurement, asset inventory management, and predictable fixed monthly pricing. We keep your hardware updated, monitored, and running at peak performance.
