The Automation Integration Engineer is responsible for development, integration, and support of electrical control systems for automation equipment in industrial and utility environments. Responsibilities cover support through the life-cycle of the design, development, and operation of the equipment and include providing direct customer/operator support for the equipment at point of use and remotely via phone and remote access.
Candidate would work in an integrated environment with Automation team members to provide reliable and performance turn-key systems to meet customer requirements in utility and industrial systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Control Panel electrical and mechanical design
- Control interface design and configuration
- Validation of regulatory requirements
- PLC programming
- HMI programming
- Manufacturing and assembly team support
- Material specification
- System testing, startup, and commissioning
- On-site installation and integration support
- Remote and on-site operational support
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or related or equivalent experience and technical education.
- Knowledge and experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical control systems.
- Knowledge and experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting PLC programs or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience with Control Panel Mechanical Design.
- Proficiency with computer systems, predominately Windows but additional Linux experience helpful.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to travel in the continental US via plane or automobile
- Valid US driver's license
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Motor control system design including VFD and stepper motor control integration
- Knowledge of Linear positioning and sensing
- Computer systems proficiency
- Computer networking concepts
- Familiar with database concepts and usage
Position requires light travel as required, typically in North Carolina and nearby states.
