If and when you don't care about a roof warranty and you want a nice sturdy mount that we can install to help hide your Starlink antenna and still get the signal you need, a tri-mast roof mount or a J-mount with Support Struts (to create a tri-mast mount) may be the answer for you!

You cannot see the antenna from the front of the home or 2 other sides, only from the back yard.

This is a custom "L" mount powder coated grey that we installed for a Starlink Standard antenna today for one of our customers. It looks good and it's built to last. WARNING: I feel like I need to make a section on our website just for the Starlink horror stories we hear almost every week and that we are often paid to fix, repair, replace, etc.

Another lady calls today. “Starlink installed her system on Thursday!”

No they didn’t… some random dude, working for a random National company who contracts to Starlink, and received the work order to install the system, often for pennies on the dollar.

Starlink does not have installers, although you can purchase an installation from them. May the odds be ever in your favor if you choose to do so as about 12% of our work load every month is dedicated to fixing existing installations, cleaning them up, moving antennas, and so on.

So, her system has failed on the 3rd day. Now she has no Internet as she already canceled her former provider. (We would have not suggested that!) She needs the Internet badly to get her work done, pay bills, etc. And yes, we have noticed about a 10% failure rate for Starlink systems out of the box and or within 3 - 4 days of being active and online. If they are going to fail, it’s during the software updates and so on for some reason.

This is why we have our process in place. You contact us, we help you order the equipment. When you can track the system and know when it’s going to be at your site, we schedule a Site Survey to come out and check out your place! We will also help you set up your Starlink System temporarily at that time so it can do it’s downloads and updates and so you can play with it in the meantime. We suggest you keep your existing provider until we know you have a good Starlink system so you do not get stuck like she is now!

We then offer you a bid for the installation and return within a few days to actually install it if you would like us to do so, and now that we know it’s going to be a good system for you.

Her options… go somewhere else to get Internet access so she can go to www.starlink.com and beg them to send her a new system. Or, she can pay us $65 and $ 1.45 per mile (one-way to her site only) so we will come install a rental system for her (Minimum $150 for 5-days) to use in the meantime.

She called the guy who installed it, he said he can't help her until Saturday. A week without Internet because they do not have as much experience as we do, apparently!

Our customers get free loaners (if and when available) for if and when their system fails and while they are waiting for a replacement. If you know, you know, if you don’t, you will likely pay for it.

Wait until I write about the ladies (yes two now) in Bigfork who paid $1000.00 (for a $350.00 system). She was scammed because she used a search engine to get to, who she thought was Starlink, but it wasn’t. The installer she paid another $199.00 for also never showed up!

Internet requirements are changing—and changing fast.

I recently overheard a woman at the bank talking about helping her daughter move to the Seattle area because her healthcare administration job required faster, more reliable internet than she could get here—even with some of the best options available around here.

That reminded me of something we see all the time with Starlink installations:

“Just put it there. A few dropouts won’t bother us.”

And maybe they won’t… today.

But then your son or daughter comes home for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or the summer and needs to work remotely. Maybe someone starts day trading, running a business from home, attending video meetings, or doing something else where a dropped connection suddenly matters.

That “good enough” installation may not be good enough anymore.

We can usually make Starlink work in several locations on a property. Our job, however, is to recommend the location and installation method that gives you the best long-term performance and reliability—not simply the cheapest or easiest place to put it today.

Sometimes spending a little more to do it right the first time saves a lot more money, frustration, and limitations later.

Internet is no longer just entertainment. For many people, it determines where they can live, work, and even visit.

When we talk about doing "Custom U Mounts," this is one we did for a Starlink V4 System to go under the eave of a 14-degree sloped roof. It is powder-coated black and can easily support an outdoor access point, security camera, etc. as well.

Important Update Regarding Starlink Installation Estimates

Effective immediately, Lone Pine Technology is returning to our standard on-site survey requirement before providing a final estimate for a Starlink installation.

We previously allowed some customers to waive the on-site survey in an effort to save time and reduce upfront costs. Unfortunately, without seeing the property firsthand, it is not always possible to identify every mounting, cabling, accessibility, or equipment requirement in advance. This has occasionally resulted in misunderstandings when the actual installation required more work or materials than initially anticipated.

To prevent surprises and ensure everyone clearly understands and approves the proposed installation, we are reinstating our complete process:

On-site survey → Installation plan and estimate → Customer approval → Installation

We would rather decline a project than risk disappointing a customer or compromising the quality of our work or risking our ratings and reputation on social media.

Lone Pine Technology has more than 25 years of experience in the satellite industry. We have never had to return to one of our installations because of poor workmanship or an improperly planned installation. Our return visits have been limited to equipment failures, system relocations, or customer-requested changes.

Customers are always free to choose a lower-cost installation option. However, we recommend keeping our number handy as approximately 20% of our work each week now involves relocating, repairing, or improving Starlink systems that were installed by inexperienced or less-qualified installers.

Our process may not always be the cheapest or fastest, but it is designed to provide a safe, reliable, professional installation that is done correctly the first time.
