THE STORY

My quest to bring the Russian mugs of Kin Pottery to the United States started back in 2019 before Covid. After purchasing one of his mugs, I contacted Mihail Tryapkin the owner and principal artist at Ken pottery. We started a relationship and a business venture primarily so that his mugs would be readily available to be shipped from within the United States to US buyers. I opened this page and started this business "Dead Eye Trading Company” with the intention of being his US representative. I received a few shipments from Russia before the war broke out, however subsequent shipments became problematic. Two of the shipments disappeared in the Russian mail system that were already paid for. UPS, FedEX, and DHL stopped all flights out of Russia, but Mihail and I found a work around for replacing the lost shipments. These are the mugs I am about to receive (hopefully). The future still looks bleak.... Our biggest challenge is paying for any future deliveries, because payments to Russia are suspended. It is not illegal to buy these products, but transferring money is the problem. These mugs that I am receiving now may be the last for a long time.
