🚨 We love taggin' vehicles!

Frankly, we’re a little surprised we never got caught with a couple of spray cans back in the day. 😎

These days, we’ve found a much more productive—and legal—way to use our graphic skills for taggin'.

We recently had the opportunity to help Cube Services LLC a new contractor here in Juneau, get their new truck branded and ready to hit the road.

There’s something pretty satisfying about taking a clean white truck and turning it into a rolling billboard. A good vehicle graphic should be easy to recognize, easy to read, and tell people exactly what you do—even when they only have a few seconds to see it.

From design, to production, to installation—we do it all right here at Alaska Litho.

But the best part is seeing another local business get their name out there. We genuinely love promoting the people and organizations we work with, and it’s especially fun when we get to help a new business put its best foot—or in this case, tire—forward.

Welcome to town, Cube Services! We wish you guys all the best and look forward to seeing this truck out working around Juneau.

And if you happen to see it around town... apparently they install heat pumps. You really can’t miss it. 😉

🗺️ Love Maps? Guilty!

We’ll admit it—we love all kinds of maps at Alaska Litho. Old maps, new maps, nautical charts, trail maps, historical maps...pretty much anything cartographic. But give us a beautifully designed map featuring Alaska, and you really have our attention.

Recently, we had the opportunity to produce this impressive map project for the Huna Heritage Foundation.

Historical Xunaa Ḵáawu Settlements was developed by Huna Heritage Foundation for the community as an educational resource, documenting historic settlement locations, waterways, travel routes, and traditional place names throughout the traditional homeland of the Xunaa Tlingit people.

Our part was bringing the finished map to life in print.

These maps were produced using offset lithography, a printing process particularly well suited to a project like this, where fine detail, small type, subtle terrain, and consistent color all matter. They were printed on acid-free paper for long-term archival quality, made with 10% post-consumer recycled fiber and carrying an FSC Mix 70% designation—combining print quality and longevity with responsibly sourced materials.

There’s something special about a good map. It doesn't just tell you where things are. It can help preserve and share history, language, culture, geography, and the connection between people and place.

And when that map is about Southeast Alaska? Yeah...we're definitely going to love it more than a little. 🗺️

A big thank you to Huna Heritage Foundation for trusting Alaska Litho with this very important project. We love getting the opportunity to put our expertise to work on projects that will be used and enjoyed throughout our communities.

🐋 From an idea to an immersive museum exhibit.

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do at Alaska Litho is collaborating with organizations that are making a difference in our community.

The team at -Douglas City Museum envisioned an engaging, immersive experience for their Critter Trek exhibit. They created the concept and artwork—we were honored to help bring that vision to life through large-format printing and installation.

From the life-sized humpback whale fluke to the animal graphics and interpretive displays throughout the exhibit, it was exciting to watch the museum's creative ideas become a space where visitors can learn about the incredible wildlife of Southeast Alaska.

Projects like this remind us that printing is about much more than ink on paper. It's about helping tell stories, educating our community, and creating memorable experiences.

A sincere thank you to the Juneau-Douglas City Museum for trusting Alaska Litho to be part of this wonderful project. We always enjoy working with organizations that inspire curiosity and celebrate our community.
