🐾 In Memory of Jacks — aka Jackie boy🐾
To know him was to love him. ❤️
You didn’t come to the shop without seeing Jacks. He wasn’t just the shop dog—he was a fixture, a familiar face, and a part of the place that just belonged there.
Jacks was a street dog, but he was also one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever known. That boy had a sixth sense for Derek. Somehow, he could pick up Derek’s scent from miles away—sometimes it seemed like 10 miles away—and he would track him down.
He knew Derek’s usual stops. He knew where to look. He knew the places Derek might be, and he’d make his rounds until he found him. And once he did, Jacks was going wherever Derek was going.
If Derek got on his bike, Jacks followed. He’d trail along beside him, keeping up and keeping watch like it was his job. ❤️
And then there was Dollar General. 😂 Somehow, this ridiculously smart dog figured out how to get himself inside just to look for Derek. He never bothered anybody. He wasn’t causing trouble. He just knew Derek might be in there, and apparently the rules of “dogs aren't supposed to be in here” didn't apply when his person was missing.
That was Jacks. Independent enough to roam the streets, but loyal enough to cross miles just to find someone he loved.
He roamed those streets for years, until eventually, the streets took him from us.
But those streets also gave him a life full of people who knew him, loved him, fed him, watched for him, and made him part of their everyday lives.
To know Jacks was to love Jacks.
Rest easy, Jackie boy. ❤️🐾
Go find Derek wherever he is. I have a feeling you already know exactly where to look.
The shop won't be the same without you.
