In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Over six days, God transformed the formless void into a world filled with light, sky, land, seas, vegetation, celestial bodies, and living creatures. On the first day, He created light, separating day from night. On the second day, He formed the sky. The third day brought dry land, seas, and all kinds of plants. On the fourth day, God made the sun, moon, and stars to light the earth. The fifth day saw the creation of sea creatures and birds. On the sixth day, God created land animals and mankind in His own image, giving them stewardship over the earth. On the seventh day, God rested, blessing and sanctifying it. The Garden of Eden, a paradise filled with beautiful plants and a life-giving river, was the home of the first humans, Adam and Eve, who lived in harmony with God and creation.
