A little time lapse video of the “LIVE AT FIVE” logo being created from start to finish. The refined sketch is created & then I drop the opacity down so the linework becomes lighter and I do a tighter version of it on top refining along the way with an inking brush from within .
Backing track is “Bright Lights Big Cities” off the Bourbon at the Lake EP by out MAY 22. Give him a follow if ya dig it it will be available on all streaming platforms as well as bandcamp and where all mp3’s are sold!

“LIVE AT FIVE” logo for and my ( ) Friday live streams . Swipe over for the initial sketch and refined sketch. BOTH are very important to the process. Typically I do even more quick sketches (the more the better & I’m only really thinking about layout and a very general look and feel not too many details at all. The more they can be differentiated the better!) but I had a pretty clear vision and short timeline to finish it off. If you grew up in the 90’s you’re probably familiar with where the inspiration came from so having that as a guide helped as well. As you swipe through you can see THINKING happening from one sketch to the next. That’s what will always yield a better result. Sketching and iterating digitally and on the iPad helps tremendously too.
