Dolly is greatly missed but the light she left behind will glow on forever as donations keep pouring in to support her effort to help children learn to read..
Her children’s reading program launched in 1995, became one of her proudest and most lasting endeavors, placing books into the hands of millions of children, opening doors to a lifetime love of reading. As Dolly once shared, “Before he passed away, my Daddy told me the Imagination Library was probably the most important thing I had ever done.” She started the program because her father, who quit school to work on the farm, struggled to learn to read.
We are so honored to have played a small part in supporting her legacy and helping to bring that vision to life for her through design, marketing and Illustration for her through the years. She was a joy to work with and truly a shining star of East Tennessee.
