Quick question: if someone got into your email right now, what could they actually do?

More than you'd think. They could reset passwords to your tax software, your bank, your client portal, since email is the recovery method for almost everything. They could email your clients pretending to be you. That's how a lot of "updated wire instructions" scams start.

Multi-factor authentication closes that door. It's one extra step for you and one more wall between a stolen password and everything connected to it.
