You already have the discipline. You already have the work ethic.

What the data says you need now? Verified AI skills that employers can see.

Coursera just released their 2026 Micro-Credentials Impact Report and the numbers are clear:

98% of employers are hiring based on skills — not your degree or GPA.
94% will offer higher starting pay to candidates with verified credentials.
60% will pick a less experienced candidate with an AI credential over someone more experienced who doesn’t have one.

The workforce has changed. The question is whether your resume reflects that yet.
That’s exactly what the Squared Away community is built for — AI literacy, verified credentials, and a clear path to your next career move.

Drop a 🎖️ in the comments if you’re a veteran, service member, or military spouse ready to make the shift.

You do not need to be technical to get real value from AI

That idea keeps too many people out of the conversation.
Yes, technical skills can help.
But practical AI use often starts somewhere much simpler:
- writing
- planning
- organizing
- summarizing
- reviewing
- translating messy information into clear next steps

What matters here:
- writing
- planning
- organizing

You do not need to master everything, you need a useful starting lane

That is what a lot of people miss when they begin with AI.
They try to understand every tool, every model, every workflow, every trend.
Then they stall.
A better path is to pick one lane:
- **learn** something useful
- **apply** it to a real task
- **share** what worked

What matters here:
- **learn** something useful
- **apply** it to a real task
- **share** what worked

AI can help you follow up faster.
It should not make your message sound fake.

Give the model:
- who the person is
- what happened last
- what you want next
- the tone you want
- what it should avoid saying

Then review the result like a human who actually cares about the relationship.

The best AI users do not trust outputs blindly, they design review points

The best AI users do not trust outputs blindly.
They design review points.
That is one of the biggest differences between casual use and professional use.

What matters here:
- is this factually right?
- did it miss context?
- did it invent anything?

Comment REVIEW for the QA checklist.

A lot of people get disappointed with AI tools because they are asking the wrong type of tool to do the job.

Simple rule:

Use **chat** when you need thinking, drafting, summarizing, or planning.

Use **automation** when the task repeats the same way every time.

Use **agents** when the work has multiple steps, changing state, tool switching, and human review points.

The question is not “what is the best AI tool?”
It is “what kind of work am I trying to improve?”

That question alone saves a lot of wasted experimentation.

Not every AI tool should be used the same way.

Quick rule:
- Chat = thinking, drafting, summarizing
- Automation = repeated tasks
- Agents = multi-step work with decisions and handoffs

A lot of frustration comes from using the wrong tool for the job.
Better tool fit usually matters more than chasing the newest app.
