What if career exploration started with the studen, not the career?

This fall, Lobaki is expanding its work with Jackson Public Schools, beginning with immersive learning experiences at 11 junior high and high schools and a six-year initiative to build something even bigger: a more personalized path from the classroom to what comes next.

Through Civic Lens and Money Lens, scholars will experience civics and financial literacy in real-world scenarios. And through VISTA, we’re working with JPS to help scholars discover their strengths, explore careers and connect those insights to postsecondary programs, internships, apprenticeships and future opportunities.

Because career readiness shouldn’t just be about showing students what jobs exist.

It should help them discover where they fit.

Methods by which students can find out where their skills can lead them.

Lobaki is looking forward to working with MyCityRides in order to provide immersive training in mechanical and job skills to the Boys & Girls Clubs in Memphis.

By distributing 15 VR headsets among the club locations, students will gain new opportunities to develop their practical skills, get a feel for different career paths, and build confidence about their future.

This is what immersive learning looks like beyond the classroom, connecting young people with real skills, real possibilities, and careers they may not have considered before.

We are looking forward to seeing where they go with it.

A sixth-grader who was curious about all sorts of things grows into a twelfth-grader who deliberately practices and then becomes a graduate who completes the things they start.

That journey is no accident; it's a pipeline, and somebody has to construct it.

This year Lobaki is assisting the districts in developing the curiosity-to-career pipeline by providing hands-on experiences which inspire a sense of wonder in middle school and allowing high school students to make real-life decisions. Meanwhile, mistakes are still free and link graduates to the careers that they have chosen on purpose.

You can't just download critical thinking; you have to go through the experience of it.

The new school year is here and so is the new pipeline. Let's get it built.
