Another one down and another happy client. I was super excited to get back into things with a custom that, I myself, had an interest in. I’ll never tire of doing these character customs.

Also I am sorry for being away for some time. With life and a bunch of other things happening, I just haven’t had as much time as I’d like to work on these. I have more time now, so I’m back and open for business should anyone be interested!

Yet another project down and over with. I will say that for my first time working on a micro, I did find it interesting if not a bit tedious. I can’t believe Nintendo was able to cram so much into such a small shell. Well, I know the person this was for loved it, and I was more than happy to do it for them! Now to start the next one!

I just wanted to take a second to make a call out to something that’s important to me and many others around the world. My line of work is closely tied to games and, as someone with Epilepsy, I wanted to just let people know that November is Epilepsy Awareness Month. I feel like most of us associate Epilepsy with seizures due to flashing lights from movies, games, parties, etc, but there are so many other forms or triggers than just that. I know that many people who play games may have noticed the Epilepsy warning upon booting up most games nowadays, and while I’m just as guilty of spamming a button to get past it, I just wanted to bring attention to a terrible thing that affects many people. Sometimes I enjoy these more simple requests. The request this time was a Dragonball Gameboy Advance. This was just an easy re-shell with new buttons, an IPS screen, glass lens, and a usb-c rechargeable battery. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about the metallic blue buttons with the transparent shell, but it’s grown on me.

Another custom down, another happy customer! This one was a new one for me. Other than wanting the usual new screen, shell, battery, and buttons, I also put in a audio amplifier and LEDs for underneath the buttons. I was very happy to do a custom based off of Protoman.EXE since I am a huge fan of Megaman Battle Network myself. This was very much a labor of love! Now on to the next project.

Now this one was a real treat to work on. It was by far one of the easiest, but most satisfying jobs. It’s just a simple re-shell for a GBA SP 101 with new buttons and glow in the dark membranes. Hey, some people wanna keep it simple. I honestly do not see a reason to upgrade a 101 much myself. As a huge fan of Digimon myself though, I’ll say that this shell is amazing and just beautiful to look at. The parts for a much larger project that’s not quite so simple have arrived, so please look forward to seeing it once it’s finished!

This build turned out amazing! In this one, there’s a new IPS display with adjustable brightness, an amplifier for louder sound, a much larger battery, a power regulator to help with the added hardware, and a usb type c charging port to replace the existing one. I was trying to match the color scheme of MEGAMAN Battle Network 6 Falzar, which is my favorite game in the series. With that in mind, I’ve got two more projects coming up to share once all the necessary parts have arrived.

It’s pretty days like today that make me want to go to a park and just chill for awhile. If the weather keeps up like this, might take the GB camera and go take some pictures this weekend.

It may not be a Gameboy, but it is a custom handheld right? This is a Digimon X virtual pet that I hand painted, and decided to try my hands with wiring up leds on. I made a spacer for the light to pipe in behind the screen with some plastic sheets I cut to fit. I then wired up an LED to a switch and then to a cr2025 so that it wouldn’t take battery away from the device itself. This was a fun little learning experience that I’m sure will lead to bigger and better things!
