Cornell First In Class Program

Cornell First In Class Program Cornell First in Class seeks to support, encourage, and empower first generation students on Cornell University's campus.

First in Class is Cornell’s first generation student support initiative that aims to build a sense of community among first generation students on campus for mutual support and growth. Our community is a space by and for first generation students with support from Cornell’s Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives. Together we promote academic excellence and achievements while spreading awareness

of social issues that are faced by our underrepresented portion of the student body. Spread across four committees—Advocacy, Study Abroad, Programming, and Multimedia Outreach—are the First in Class Mobilizers who spearhead institutional initiatives and programming on behalf of the first generation study body. In order to develop additional opportunities across campus and increase involvement and representation within our diverse community, we encourage you to join us! Have your voice heard as a first generation student at Cornell, help shape our new community, and discover what it really means to be First in Class.
