Tom Martin, Editor-in-Chief of The Absolute Sound magazine and online review platform, reviews the Trinnov Audio Altitude CI in a stereo application.
THIS REVIEW IS WORTH YOUR TIME!!
Tom has written about the bass challenges of his room for years, and famously tried multiple brands, models, and different configurations and multiples.
In this review, Tom challenges multiple long standing paradigms that audiophile community has been slow to embrace in terms of maximizing audio reproduction. DSP time alignment and equalization.
He also goes into the deep end (pun intended!) with the Trinnov Waveforming processing, using six matched subwoofers from Perlisten in his room.
He spends A LOT of time explaining the hows and whys from the standpoints of acoustical physics as well as practical music reproduction, atypical of some audiophile writing. Then Tom expounds to include his own measured findings and listening notes.
Tom remarks that the imaging and sound stage improves dramatically through reductions in modal decay times, time alignment, etc.
DSP came into the stereo world in the 80s and was viewed as a novelty for a decade, or two (or three) by anyone who was serious about sound reproduction. Now we are seeing a notable review embracing the *extremely* high potential for creating improvements in real-life system applications.
