Why PURLs Are a Strategic Piece of Modern Direct Marketing

A PURL (Personalized URL) is a special form of URL used by direct mailers.

They:

- Track every response (even if the respondent doesn’t complete the call-to-action ... which means you squeeze more leads out of every campaign)

- Lift response rates 20-30% (by tapping into a change in consumer behavior that you're likely missing)

- Clearly demonstrate the value of direct mail (especially useful when digital folks try to take print budget)

My history with direct mail and PURLs is very personal. We’re often credited with inventing the PURL, so today I'm sharing the behind-the-scenes story in this short clip 😍
