Inside the inaugural Global Sport Innovation Exchange 🇬🇧

Three days before Sunday’s win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Colts and Sports Tech HQ brought team execs, league leaders, brands, investors and founders from both sides of the Atlantic to the Colts FanZone in London.

The afternoon covered how the NFL and its teams build new markets, how sport adopts new technology and how Blue built a fan base far beyond Indianapolis 🌎

Ahead of the 43rd NFL game in London this Sunday, we teamed up with the Indianapolis Colts to create the Global Sport Innovation Exchange, a first-of-its-kind event tied to an international NFL game.

Decision makers and innovators from both sides of the Atlantic and across sport joined us for an afternoon on how the NFL and its teams are rewriting their playbooks to build and scale in new international markets.

We were honored to organize this event with the Colts and to bring some of Indiana’s sports tech founders and partners along with us, putting the state’s sports tech ecosystem in front of a global audience.

Sports Tech HQ and the Indiana Life Sciences Association have announced a strategic partnership to connect Indiana's life sciences and sports technology communities. Technologies like wearables, sensors and biometrics are being developed in both sectors with applications well beyond their original markets, and this partnership will help companies on both sides find new partners, customers and investors.

An hour before tipoff at the NBA Finals, referee Scott Foster warms up his eyes with a VR headset 👀

The routine comes from Dr. Joseph LaPlaca, a Carmel, Indiana based high performance vision clinic founded by Dr. Joe LaPlaca, and featured front and center on ESPN today.

NBA refs. Pro goalies. IndyCar pit crews. Dr. Joe trains their eyes and brains like muscles, and some of his first believers are teams from his own backyard in Indiana: the Indy Fuel, Indy Ignite, and Chip Ganassi Racing.

One of the world’s largest athletic footwear and apparel retailers is making a major investment in Indiana.

The City of City of Fishers announced a $169 million expansion of the Fishers District anchored by JD Sports US and Finish Line, which will move its North America headquarters to a new home northeast of downtown Indianapolis.

At the heart of the expansion is the new $65 million, 180,000-square-foot Fishers Fieldhouse, the future home of the Indy Ignite Pro Volleyball and a hub for youth basketball, volleyball leagues and tournaments.
